Will simba ever use only "lape"

Well?

Also, what is the difference between lape and pascal

Lape is faster, and from what I can see offers more power to the scripter.

Pascal (should) always be available to use, but one day the pascal version of srl may become outdated due to not being update because lape is "better". Switching interpreters can be done by going to script->Interpreter in the Simba client.

As far as im aware someone suggested the interpreter will use only lape at one point, but something about it being written by the devs so that it can still read pascal i think

I think their just two different programming languages, could be wrong though, necer really heard of lape

I'm also pretty sure there aren't (m)any scripting differences, so it should be easy for us to adapt to.

They (Lape and PascalScript) are different interpreters of the same language (Pascal).

We will eventually get to phasing out PascalScript.

Currently, I *think* SRL works in Lape. and takes advantage of the new "features".

Seeing as it already does everything quite well, and more importantly is stable, why not keep both and have a DEFINE option to use either interpreter, seems a waste to completely dump the current interpreter

SRL5 compiles in Lape, but I don't know how many features it currently makes use of.

SRL6, however, is currently being rewritten using Lape, and is taking full advantage of its features.

Link to follow development is in my sig if anyone is interested in getting involved.

Yes, we will prob keep PascalScript as an option, but it won't be the default anymore.

Also, PascalScript is not that stable.

Couple of things are still lacking in Lape (forms and other object related things). That's the main reason for not phasing out PS just yet.

Quick question. If SRL makes Lape the default language, will there ever be a day when pascalscript will be phased out completely?

Hey NCDS your sig says SRL solves all randoms! There aren't any randoms anymore! Thought I'd point that out;) Way off topic… Lol

Off-Topic: Squeal of fortune ticket for skilling would be classed as a random as its random ;)

Prob, unless people use PascalScript for some ungodly reason in the future.

Could we use simba for memory injection and process handling? If so then we should start making bots for other games too :)
