Sucks they made it free, would of been cool to see one or two people in this gear not everyone.

yeah like XoL said that would have been sweet and everyone would have respected more.

What do you mean by free?

Idk it says "free" at the top of this thread, if that means RSGP or real money either way I think it should of cost something.

Its not cool if everyone else has it too :p

Free as in it is available for those who finished the quest. You just have to kill the monsters for shards, and smith them into the parts. Its untradeable too.

If you use the armour outside of the Tz-haar area, you will get inflicted with 3x any damage you'd take without the armor.

Ah that makes a lot more sense :p so it isn't terribly easy to obtain?

The shard drops are really easy to get.
You just need to smith the shards. Smithing is assistable to make the armour.

90 smithing (assistable) is required to create the full set and 80 defence to wear any part. The sets, like Void Knight equipment, use a helm aligned with melee, ranged, or mage, while the body, legs, and other parts are typeless. When the set is equipped with the helm, it gives a 10% accuracy boost in the combat style to which it is aligned. Obsidian armour also reduces the damage taken from TokHaar and TzHaar creatures. However, players will take triple damage in PvP combat and combat anywhere that is not in TzHaar city, greatly limiting the armor's utility.

The armor won't be that common but common enough that it won't be a sign of prestige.

Its technically useless outside of the tzhaar area. I like how they compared it to having similar effects like void armour did before they nerfed it.

Solomans store haha, jagex can keep grasping at straws to try and save this game but the straws are running out,

What defence lvl do you need to wear? 99 or something equally as ridiculous?

Idk bout u guys, but once a mmo goes pay to win, i think you can see the end coming, i know this in particular is only cosmetic, but look at the state of the wheel crap, its so disgusting to see a company willing to tank their stock price into oblivion to counter RWT then basically release their own RWT

Also thanks for grabbing the images Jakee :)

Just need 80 defence to wear each equipment piece.

Wish they'd just have no skin and allow the obsidian armour to look neat just like the skins they are selling in the store. I also don't see how its a grandmaster quest, with only 1 quest requirement, and average skilling levels.

You have a expectation that "Grandmaster" actually represents an achievement that was challenging to complete, jagex see "Grandmaster" as the end of a random 3 quest series these days

And literally all they had to do to remain sucessful was do nothing >.<

Game developer makes a great game,
Game becomes one of most popular games worldwide,
Game developer sells game to outside company,
Company tries to change and inprove game,
Game dies,
Company finds another game,

Hate the way this keeps going round and round these days

although i dont like it i see it as a good business move on their part. no matter what people say there are a bunch of people spending their money on solomans and SOF. and last time i checked a business is something your looking to profit from so why not milk it for whatever you can? people will quit because of it but more will come.

Do you think this new quest, "The Brink of Extinction", is a metaphor for runescape.com? LOL
