Apparently Jagex was 2 months overdue on their latest financial report according to that article.

After having problems with another MMO they created, 8 realms, they had to lay off people, and got into more financial problems.

RuneScape developer has yet to issue yearly filing due in September

Jagex has failed to produce its annual financial report nearly two months after the due date.

The company best known for RuneScape has opened a number of new studios this year, including one in the US.

But not all has been growth and prosperity for the developer as the failure of MMO 8Realms let to a number of layoffs.

Sources told Develop the game saw only ten percent of the users needed to turn a profit.

According to Companies House, the annual filing was due on September 30th.

It is unknown why exactly Jagex have missed this important deadline, but other companies such as Interplay have in the past delayed filing due to issues with third-party accounting firms.

Jagex has not responded to requests for comment as of press time.

Deficit.. Just one dangerous word.. Jagex actually doesn't have money which is why they come up with all this crap but they're stupid.. They don't listen to customers, players, no one. They push solomon crap and squeal crap in hopes that it helps but instead it drives away more players.

This is the reason my Family got fucked over by Jagex. They purposely tampered with shit my stepdad did for them and refused to pay him.

Jagex = No money = Scamming independent companies

Another great one jakee. I had no idea how bad things were. You always find interesting things to read about.

Wow, yet they try to keep their image as good as possible. I mean I understand why they would, if the players found out Jagex is a sinking boat, they might not devote as much time to the game.

I wouldn't say its dead, I'd just say its not looking so great from my point of view.
We bot/play for our pleasure or choice. Im waiting to see how it goes when those 2 new skills come out.

they need to fix rs and stop trying to expand into new games to ssave the company imo. try and draw back the older players that loved the game and hope they bring the new generation with them.

Hypothetically, even if this game wasn't 'dying' - why waste another second on it? Nobody cares about your runescape account and I personally regret every second I ever spent playing it.

"Find a place inside where there's joy, and the joy will burn out the pain." Joseph Campbell

In my opinion, the above quote completely applies to addiction-based MMORPG gaming. Players try to find joy in a virtual and fake world. The player will try to completely distance themselves from their inner self and live in a dream world. This might seem childish, but often people just have no idea about the mess they have gotten themselves into. It gets to a point where quitting would mean 'wasting' a good part of your life's work.

The joy you experience in RS is not true joy for you are never truly satisfied and always seek to play more.
True joy comes with acceptance and understanding. Until you distance yourself from runescape gaming you will never truly understand how insignificant your achievements really are.
Needless to say, quitting runescape is the only real achievement you could strive for.

I understand what your saying, but if like me your not doing anything alot of days, a mmo is a good way to "sink time", i used to play alot but recently only bot or talk to old friends, but if you had fun while you played the game, then was it really a waste? You will look back on all the time you "wasted" playing the pointless mmo's, but if you didnt play them, would you of been doing something more fun and productive?

Also, we're kinda straying off topic from OP :)

That's something I was asking a hoster in the ge the ther day, why do you waste time here by standing here and claim to be legit when people say you scam and gambling is looked down upon by the player base.
His answer was that he achieved and beat the game, when he hasn't finished more than half the quest, most skills below 70.
And the I read what you said about "hat else would you have done that time instead of playing the game", since I'm trying to max and conpletionist. Makes me want to rethink about what I said to that host.

They should've never sold the company.
