looking to make a light / simple updater on my desktop to scan a link for a course to become 'open' status, from its' currently 'closed' state.

you have to login too, so any links for where to start this would be nice :)

Does it need to be in a specific language?

no specific language. I figure I'd look into something in java or basic microsoft stuff after quarter finishes
