Infracted??

The other day, my brother came onto these forums and made a post for advertisement purposes. The thread was removed, but I've been infracted because we're under the same IP address.

I PMed the moderator who infracted me, but I had a question for the community:

What's the best approach to proving that the account belongs to him and not I? I really haven't a clue what evidence I can use to justify my claim. I just do not want to get infracted for his stupidity.

Thanks!

I honestly think you can better work this out with that moderator himself, he is a nice guy. He is also online on IRC if you need him directly. I like the way how you asked this, but I am afraid this can only result in a discussion about infracting based on IP is right.

Which moderator did you talk to? All of them are good, some are less active than others, and some are more busy than others.

I didn't know you get infractions IP-Based. I was sure it was only account based. Are you sure you received it, and its for that specific one?

You have been a long-time member with no previous history etc., nor a motive to advertise, I think the mod could also see that if they have a quick run through your posts.

Damn. Well is there any way for them to ban my brother's account and prevent any further accounts from being created on these forums? I guess I'll just contact him and hope for the best.

It said it was for Advertising / Referrals, and that it was because I posted on my "second account"

That's what I'm hoping :(

Lol, but Daniel is still amazing. Just saying. Try contacting him again, ask for a ban on new accounts from that IP. Though Im pretty sure 1 infraction doesn't mean much, it might for this case, IDK.

I'll PM him again tomorrow if I don't get a response by then. It isn't a big deal at all, it'll expire lol :p I just would rather not have an unnecessary infraction.

I'm hoping he can/has/will ban my brother's account and IP ban account creation under the IP. If that's even possible.

lol =P kinda, I wrote it without the z, and then had to think…

I said to myself, "I know there is a z in it somewhere….", then added it before the c.

Then I decided before I click post, to look and I got it right!
