I honestly wonder how this is going to turn out.

What is the marketing angle on this?

"The device can't connect to the Internet and does not play Nintendo GameCube games."

I'm sure they will make enough sales to net a profit. Which in the end, is all that matters. I am no marketing expert, but I honestly can't see this being a huge hit here in the states. I'm sure you could easily get a more capable second hand wii for about the same price. I was never a fan of the console in the first place.

Personally, I am far more excited to see the nexgen consoles which are supposed to arrive about this time next year.

This is not a next gen consol. Its another down size on wii, like the ps3 fat to ps3 slim to ps3 ultra slim, nintendo has gone through wii, horizontal wii and now the mini wii.

And it is not available in USA.

Oh well, the original Wii is still a pretty small console.
Some of the best games of this decade are out on that console IMO.
