computer one obv
going to mod it maybe, thinking of designs for liquid cooling etc and how it flows of course…
anyone got some fancy ideas?

I like it a bit more plain and simple like LED fans, that's enough for me. ^^ I also have a window in the side, but that was there when I bought it, what case did you get?

Tits or gtfo…
but I think liquid cooling would be awesome dude, it would help to reduce damage to the pc etc. If you did it right you could get it to look awesome!

Could mod a side panel to swing open/shut like a door and have everything slide out from the case like a filing cabinet :p
Lots and lots and lots of LEDs

2012-11-27 17:39:15
Lol, I hate light, no LEDS!!!
my last rig was all black & white, was cool, don't really care for looks over performance
this one is going to be small case..
I'm debating whether I feel like drilling holes jk gonna drill holes cuz I like to break stuff
wondering where I should put my res in this, where the pink line ends is where idk where it goes because it goes to the res

and before someone says something stupid like "the pressure is more because the pump has to push up" just google siphoning and learn how that works, then you'll realize there is almost zero push required for the pump to work no matter how wacked your loop is
so it goes blue -> green > up through red to radiator.. then out with pink into case again, gotta mess around I guess

It's a pretty cool case, I saw its price and was like, yes I can drill holes in this case

I dunno if you've had similar HDD/SSD bays before, but it took me more time than I'd like to admit trying to get them to clip in–when you just put those l-shape things on the side of the removable tray and it slides in between the things .. err look @ pic below:
(goes where the red marks are)

I imagine you've more experience with cases and this stuffs so it probably won't be a problem for you as it was for me >.<

Yea lol, there are a million different stupid little things case designers come up with in how to make drive bays better or worse.. etc probably going to take that entire piece out

That's my shop, there's enough crap in there to build about 30 computers
I mean just in that one pic you can see 4 motherboard boxes, clearly not for 1 computer :P

waterflow blue -> green -> pink
if the water pressure is how I think it is, the radiator up on the top should be able to be empty most of the time and we get a fancy waterfall effect

oo I see, nice nice. You usually liquid cool when you are oc'ing processors like a 3570k? I know this is lingering off topic from your case :p but does that scale for higher processors too? Do you liquid cool when constantly oc'ing a 39xxk? even some e7-8xxx server?
OT: I indeed hope the rest your parts arrive soon! Stinks having to wait for them.

can't overclock most server processors, but yea no matter what liquid cooling (custom loop) have better cooling, instead of dissipating over a small heatsink you dissipate all over the entire flow of water + your radiator (mines on top) which gives a much better cooling, that's why cars use the same type of system (computer liquid cooling designed from cars) instead of having the radiator where the wind blows through while you drive.. we use fans obviously
and no prob being off topic, there's a reason I post all my stuff in NOTA usually :P

A super computer warehouse one of my teachers worked in like 15 years ago - they channeled a river through there to cool the machines, in a half pipe that touched the processors and the water just flowed through, my teachers job was scraping off the fish that got burnt onto the hot parts LOL
the machine was like 100+ feet long pretty much.. probably had less power than my 3930k does

other parts came, still need power supply & tubing though
got it up and running on stock cooler but nothing special
the other stuff should come just in time for me to be in the middle of finals week & then leave for 3 weeks .. so this will be done sometime in January :P

Insanely cold for ivy bridge overclock:
http://i.imgur.com/bQF0GM4.jpgmight go higher, though super cold at 4.2ghz is tempting for me to stay there.. so will probably sit there for at least a month and know it's so nice
other people are at like 1.3v to get at 4.4ghz + and I'm still down in the 1.1v I reckon I won the silicon lotto bigger than any man has ever won

What you doing on your car? I have only done sound system stuff
I got a shipment of that wrong tubing so I think I'm going to make one of those fancy fountains with my brother for my moms bday or something, my bro does wood carving / crafting things, and I can do all the pipes and pump etc

I got a lot of the parts with black friday deals, so it's a bit less than what the stuff is now
mobo - 100 (130 now)
ram - 50 (77 now)
cpu - 200 (220 now)
gpu - 180 (190 now)
psu - 60 (70 now, new version is out though which is 70.. I'd recommend it since it's modular and same price.. and much better wires)
ssd1 - 60 (110 now)
ssd2 - 115 (100 now) - this is my older ssd, still saturates sata3.. though got it loong ago so it was more
case - 30? I just get cheap ones and rip shit apart and weld it where I want
liquid cooling stuff is old, I've had all of it many years and reuse, reuse, reuse.. though that would be around 200 total probably
I can max every game in existence on single monitor, though multi monitor I'd need more graphics power probably (I have 3 monitors, but only game on single because I don't like looking across multiple)

damn that sounds cool, I don't know vehicles very well
I want to make a car out of superconductors and just liquid helium cool them.. get like a 100 pound super conductor, that'd hold about 10k pounds.. 9k for cooling and 1k for people lulz

I've helped probably 100 or so people build who said the exact same thing, and only like 2 actually followed through and asked for my help, the others just did it (because it is really easy) picking the parts is the only tough part because it requires knowledge, but putting them together is super straight forward, like legos but they only can go in the correct spots
but yea if you need help with anything with them you can pm or add to skype.

Seems like I should have no problem setting up my own computer, looks like a lot of fun. How tricky is installing a liquid cooling system?
grats
2013-01-25 13:39:09
it's more expensive than tricky, but doing it nicely there is a lot of sitting there and looking at it / planning
build your machine, get it going… before you go and liquid cool it, you can always PM me after it's built for good parts, you gotta be safe for the corrosion etc etc
I wouldn't do it if you're looking for better performance, the H100 performs just as good as custom loop cooling almost (custom loop maybe slightly better) only reason I still do it is because I have hundreds of dollars in cooling parts and some distilled water only costs $1 and tubing is only like $15 lol..
air cooling today is also a million times better than it was back in the day, you can get some extremely high overclocks on just the hyper 212 evo, nearly the same as the best liquid cooling.. maybe slightly not as high, it's more dependent on the silicon lotto (the cpu's are all different, even the same cpu is different vs another of the same cpu.. the same as anything of the same one might die in a week, one might die in 10 years.. they overclock all totally differently) and that is much more mattering than the cooler today, 10 years ago it was much different obviously.
