This is actually partially false information. Obviously the fact that eraze literally just shows a text file is pretty much evidence of that.
However, there have been involvement with youtubers and Jagex with regards to "pro-eoc" videos. Basically there is a daily competition for people to make videos about the EoC, and if they got chosen, they'd receive 25 spins, a 72 hour 10% XP boost, and there video featured on the Runescape home page.
If the £700 thing was true, do you really blame them?

i agree with richard, but if you got offered $1,000 dollers to make a video i think any 1 would take that deal.

I think this is a very smart move on Jagex's part, people doesnt accept EoC so make their idols do vid's about EoC and how to learn it, the haters will watch them and eventually mildly accept it :)

yeah increasing the player base will only bring more profits. more profits = more updates (to a certain extent because the investment company owning jagex etc.)
