I heard that compared to dharoks etc it will be dramatically reduced after EoC?

I'm not sure what would be the use of a shield in EOC though?
It has always been the case that dmg is much more important than def, so everyone will be using 2h/off-hand to pk/pvm/slay?

They are trying to transfer the combat system over to a more defense orientated system. Hence armour increasing life points and so forth
