Harrassing members.

I don't know if this is a topic I can really post or not etc but it's a discussion which I think needs to be seen.
This thread isn't about the trade or the story behind it. More about the disgusting manners that people think they can get away with to our community.

Today Footy was selling Gold to someone inwhich they used Villavu to converse. He was short by 2m and asked me to fund the last 2m. Which I'm fine with. He explained this to the child and this is the result:

I'm sorry but this attitude is disgusting. He also called me a nigger.
Is this really the behaviour that members produce on Villavu?

The user:

http://villavu.com/forum/member.php?u=80879

As you can tell from the rep he is highly disliked. This is due to short temper etc.
Is it possible for a member to be warned for actions such as these on our small community?

It's partly my fault, I shouldn't really be dealing with registered members. I'll pay him his GP when I'm back in stock. Waiting for shay to pay me…

As understandable as this is. The trade isn't the topic at hand… It's the fact a user such as this can have such a negative rep and still be shouting and rude to a member.

If the offense is not committed on the forums (in respect to behavior, not scamming or something obviously), then I don't see how we can punish them on the forums. 'Insulting other Members' is an intractable offense, on the forums, but I don't really think we can/should over step that boundary.

Just avoid them off the forums, etc.

If that is the case why is it when an account is hijacked the forum will ban the ip?

I doubt we will ever see him coding here, he reminds me of a really angry Preston… and although Preston has 'matured'. He is still the same.

But I will definitely keep this in mind :) Thanks

I think according to his actions + reputation he should be banned… at least it's my opinion

EDIT: : I should explain myself probably… I think here is enough evidence that it's the same person + he knows with who he was talking to, so his actions was clearly "sane".. So from this point he break the rule, did nothing good (according to this thread info at profile) to community, and act "not very nice"…

Exactly my thoughts, as this didn't directly have involvement on the forums here then there's not a lot that can be done here.

If I were you, xtrapsp, I'd have just reported him in RS (for what it's worth) and keep a close eye on him here, wait for him to mess up. How they act in-game is their decision, but if they bring the same attitude here, we will do something about it, bet that.

Do you have an example? I'm not sure as to what you're referring to.

When someone here has an account stolen they have the ability to post the last logged ip and have that IP traced and banned from the forums.

Just to clarify, I'm not looking for a war or fight. I'm genuinely disgusted by the actions this member has taken, I am more than happy to hear everyone elses opinion and think about it :)

You should know, the IP is not banned, only the account.

You should also note, I said in respect to behavior, and NOT scamming. If he scammed you, and you could prove it was him, then action would be taken, but you can't possibly expect us to ban everyone who sends in an MSN screenie of someone 'being mean'. Get what I'm saying?

Well if that person had been responsible for hacking P1nky's account then it happened through the forum, seeing as how they never met outside of Villavu. No doubt something like that, directly related to the forum, would result in an investigation.

p1nky was vulnerable to some other hack external to the forum, i can't find the thread, p1nky says it himself he didn't leave his password in his script. Reamt even said it himself that he shouldn't be ban due to the circumstances happening outside the forum. Our mod's found it fit to ban him which in my opinion was the best thing to do.

Edit: Basically P1nky clicked on some link external to the forum or got hacked so other way. items got taken etc. P1nky however got a ip. the ip was traced. chances were the randomer who hacked p1nky also had an account on villavu. he got ban

Edit: Sorry people my bad, got the wrong thread look at this one..

I completely agree with the current stance on this. What happens outside the forums, stays outside the forums. While it may change everyone here's attitude about said user, it isn't really something you can go punishing them for here.

While the banning of untrustworthy users caught scamming and so forth is completely different. That is keeping members of our community safe and is often directly linked to a users actions on the forums. Someone with a distasteful vocabulary and just generally unpleasant attitude can't really be punished on these forums unless they are conflicting with the rules of these forums. Which while foul language is against the rules, unless done on these boards it is kind of a non-issue.

Tbh, This user has sworn for no reason in the wrong section, and constantly at that. I do not support him being banned, Because then you are not even giving him a chance to redeem himself or mature, but his manners are outrageous. We need to either come down hard on people that act like this or some how teach them better.

But all in all we would be helping him/other people, Not just standing back and letting it go on.

There is a reason why trades are not allowed to people who are new. If you looked at his past posts and still decided to trade with him, then its your fault, i don't see what anyone can even do about him swearing in RS.

What I'm saying is he's obviously being rude etc on the forums as well as in game… His Rep. Peoples dislike for him. He hasn't even got the respect to talk properly on the forum but it was fine for him to speak understandable English when calling me a cunt and a nigger.

what most people are trying to say is that its not possible to do anything regarding behaviour outside the forums. so at ur orig question: no he cannot be "officially" be warned by mods.

Excuse me, but he's just a intercoursetard. Unfortunately, being a prick outside of the forums isn't really something that can be punished.
Idiots and jerks exist everywhere, best way to handle them is not to handle them. Just ignore and whatever. His posts here aren't really bad enough to ban him and 'being disliked' is not a valid ban reason.

And to answer your main question: Yes, unfortunately some people here act like that.

He never said that he wanted him banned, He was using him as an example of some of the people that run around just being plain rude.

To be honest hate me if you will, footy shouldn't of had his "business" outside of the boundaries of junior members+ to begin with.

Thus the business having contact with a member really isn't of concern, sure the kid may be a brat but honestly not worth banning someone when they didn't scam, didn't hack, all they did was have a temper tantrum.

Just give him his money, and ignore it… not worth the fuss.

As Brad had said many times, the discussion was on certain peoples attitudes, not the trade at all.

Ok well this is actually a two-week ban for him, as it is attacking other members (=2 points) and he already has 1 infraction point. 2+1 = 3 = temp ban.

Yes but simply attacking other members obviously frowned upon, there's no reason for it here. They can be inconsiderate morons elsewhere, but shouldn't this be a place where we come to work together and help one another?
