So, today in school we had a non school uniform day for children in need.
People often complain that we have to wear school uniform and it got me wondering if they should remove it. What are your opinions?

Pros and cons of removing school uniform.

Pros
-Wouldn't have to spend money on expensive school uniform.
-Allows children to "express themselves" (I don't believe in this one but ya'know)
-Own clothes tend to be more comfortable

Cons
-Pressure to dress fashionable , Ik many boys and girls who planned what they were going to wear in advance. (could lead to bullying too.)
-Pupils look smart in uniform
-I personally found myself slightly distracted by my clothes and looking at what others we wearing

Yes because that way they all dress the same and it avoids them from being made fun of the way they dress.

I'd prefer all schools to wear uniforms; as from experience I think mostly private schools take on uniforms, not so much public schools :/

Not quite but What i ment to say is that a school stays safe if everyone is wearing uniform. What if they didnt have uniform and girls start dressing the way to show some skin. Guys will look at them as you know what and not respect them. Once respect is lost, everyone will do it and it might hit a point where the person cant take it no more. Uniforms = nice looking students.

Steven my GCSE to A Level College is non-uniform as our Head master feels we should be comfortable in our own clothes.
But uniforms bring order and bring a equal as it helps to reduce bulling on a wealth level if someone is poor and can't afford Nike, Cross Hatch, Henley etc, they could get bullied.
My Old Pre GCSE School believe your coming to school to work, so you should be in uniform to work.

That's my views and path:P

Think your more likely to be bullied if you don't wear holister or superdry in my school and I can see your point. But If your getting bullied because you don't wear the "right" clothes then you obv need to learn to stand up for yourself and sort it out. Anyone who bullys over clothes is a dick.
Like you said on skype no one has been bullied in your school + I didn't hear a single harsh remark made about anyone's clothes today.

Well Idk about the hot girls situation but things will get out of control and instead of being a school of students, It might turn out to be a school full of drugs, sex, and violence. Bullying is also another main point for uniforms because I have seen students being bullied cause they can't afford/buy clothes that most people have.

In my area we had an non-uniform day, it pretty much turned into a riot where just under 100 people got suspended. It was pretty much Chav's starting fighting on goths. In school's there seems to be a strong rivalry between the two, well where I am from anyway. I didn't do to school in a nice area, but I didn't live there so it wasn't too bad. :P

So yeah I think it is needed.

Our school has uniforms, but only once every two weeks when there is an assembly(once a billionaire talked to us about the importance of social medial lol). We wear normal clothes usually so people are used to it, so no riots :p. And the girls show some skin, but we still respect them :p

yeah, my primary had non school uniform till I got to my last year there.
I always wore school uniform anyway but thats because I have strict(ish) parents.
I went to a chavy primary so even when uniform was brought in pretty much everyone (including me :P) wore tracksuits with the school uniform.

I go a technical school and we have to wear certain uniforms according to what trade we're taking. I like the stuff that we have to wear ;)

OT: If its not dress clothes , then yeah I'd say wearing uniforms are just fine
