So I am currently watching the EoC live stream and Mod Pi has just mentioned "RS3" and referred to the ability to customize the Runescape UI to how you like it… So what is RS3?! Is this going to be the HTML5 release? Share your thoughts.

There was some rumor of this before. I don't know how much is true, but they did hint playing RS on Mobile devices.
Though, people have played Rs on the Iphone and Android b4…

They have already said that RS3 will be coming out next year, 2013.

Does anyone have an idea about html5 bots?
Injection possible?
Reflection?
OpenGL?
DirectX?
Color will always be possible but can you load RS in a virtual machine like we can now?

Edit: http://www.powerbot.org/community/topic/791929-advanced-rs-html5-discussion/ is pretty interesting

I think someone(brandon?) mentioned something about reading the RAM, but idk anything about that :)

Well…Color will always remain, but im sure something like reflection will be there.

Colours everywhere… There will never be a day when RuneScape doesn't have them so fret not!

I can see why they would mention an rs3.
If rs2 fails with the combat update then everyone will go to rs3.
So perhaps doing the Eoc was on purpose to ruin the game.
Sigh* just another thing they said they would never do. There's even a quote saying "we will never do rs3". lame.. lame lame lame lmae mlamflmalfm oh well

I don't know that it will necessarily be completely separate. The impression I've been given from their hints is that it will just be changed over to HTML and lots of graphics updates, EoC and so on and so forth and they're just naming the complete change over as 'rs3'

This.
Whether they release everything as a game named Runescape 3 though is still unknown, but I doubt it.

HTML vs Java?

If so, what are the Pros and Cons of that? (For them and for us)

MemoryInjection will most likely always stay but im not so sure on Reflection. Hooking through dx or ogl is something I dont have any exp of.

That would be nice! Would hate to see my access to that. I wonder if they will do with what they did with RSC and split the game.

I read into some Powerbot threads now and some people mentioned that Jagex might use OpenGL to render the graphics using a HTML wrapper or something. Somebody else mentioned they might wrap the RuneScape jar in HTML. I have no clue about HTML let alone HTML 5 but other people mentioned it is possible to write RuneScape 100% based on HTML 5 / javascript / WebGL and some other stuff. Then again I'm pretty clueless about this stuff.

I'll look into Memory Injection :)

The only real way to find out what's going to happen is to wait.. I'm kind of excited as it will bring RS on par with other games graphically (if not above!)

I read about it being RS' official botting client. They want to remove the middleman and earn all that money themselves.

Lol they have had rs2 up for to long to seperate the account. I highly doubt they will do that cuz they'd loose a lot of people. Personaly if quit if they separated it

I'm still unsure if it will officially be RS3 or if its just a code name for the whole thing ^_^

yeah it could just be jagex's giving codenames…

I suspect that it is a code name opposed to the real release of a new Runescape.. Then again it's not that far fetched considering it's gunna be a completely new RuneTek :p

Pretty sure if they call it "rs3" it will have same accounts… you can "import save" for beta testing, so accounts are fully supported with EoC, and I guess then they make it fully running and official, they probably call it RS3

Still waiting for stellar dawn.
OT: I hope they stay separate.
