nooo just when they up the dung rates !?
Are they f****** serious… Thought I'd be able to bot slayer and farm as I'm nearing 99 farm.
If this does stop bots, might as well start hoarding items and merch to sell after eoc.

No I don't like the updates on it.
ps. Austin here is the text:
After five months of feedback and fine-tuning, the time is finally here: we're hugely excited to be able to announce the official live launch date of the Evolution of Combat: the 20th of November 2012!
With thousands of hours of playtime from yourselves and hundreds of changes to the system from your feedback, we’re now looking forward to a new era in RuneScape. Once the Evolution of Combat has been released, you can look forward to some great new boss monsters and combat-related updates that would never have been possible previously.
We also had an overwhelmingly positive response to the Combat Academy and survey that launched last week and are now making some small tweaks and adjustments prior to launch.
Naturally, you'll have lots of questions about the Evolution of Combat now that the date is confirmed, and we're going to be running a live stream this weekend to address these. You can post your questions in the forums here. In the meantime, check out our FAQ.
There will also be further news posts over the next few days, detailing key changes and how best to prepare for the launch. While it's securely founded in the RuneScape combat you know so well, it contains an array of large-scale improvements and new features, including:
Abilities: These are a replacement for the old special attacks found on weapons, but they're an whole different beast. Divided up into three classes: basic, threshold and ultimate, these do more damage than regular attacks and cause a range of nasty negative effects to your opponent, such as damage over time or stuns. Some may even bestow positive effects, healing you or further boosting your damage output for a set amount of time. Making sound use of abilities will push your combat prowess to new heights.
Adrenaline: This new resource is built each time you hit an enemy with an auto-attack, or with a basic ability. It's spent when you use the more powerful threshold and ultimate abilities, and when you eat food in combat, so you'll want to build it as quickly as possible during a fight.
Action Bar: This handy new interface holds all your ability buttons, and can give quick access to essentials such as potions, food and utility items.
Armour and Life Points: The armour you wear now greatly affects your maximum life points. The Evolution of Combat is balanced with this in mind, so you'll need to gear up to stand up to your foes!
Dual Wielding: That's right - with the launch of the Evolution of Combat, this much-requested feature will be fully implemented. With abilities specific to dual-wielded weapons and increased gear choices for mages such as wands and orbs, your choice of gear loadout has never been more varied. Off-hand versions of most weapons will be made available once the Evolution of Combat launches, so no need to go out and buy duplicates of your favourites just yet.
And Much More: We've introduced far too many new features, tweaks and improvements to list here, but some of the biggest are as follows:
We've filled out gaps in gear progression, including loads of brand-new level 50 gear and new options for mages and rangers.
The combat triangle is more important than ever, and you'll need to take careful count of your foe's fighting style to prevail.
There's an array of awesome-looking new animations for the new abilities and distinct combat styles.
We’ve also listened carefully to feedback from those among you who know and particularly enjoy the current system. With your input in mind, we've made many changes to the Evolution of Combat which will allow you to continue playing with the traditional style of combat, while also benefiting from the raft of improvements the update brings.
For full details, take a look at our FAQ or our quick guide on the wiki. If you haven't already, you can also still log into the beta and give the new system a whirl - be sure to try out the new Combat Academy in Lumbridge while you're there!
Just two weeks to go - plant the date securely in your calendar, because you won't want to miss the Evolution of Combat launch!

I was at Edge Bank and people were saying that they are quitting when it hits.
I think it'll be semi easier. But Not Bar Much.

I doubt it will change the difficulty of creating scripts. It most likely will break alot of functions but once they are working again I see no issues.

So what skills do you guys think will be easier to bot after this update? Which ones will be harder? (besides combat)
I think that skills like mining, woodcutting, and fishing will be better if you're powerleveling them because of the hotkey options. Magic based training things such as alching and superheating should be easier too because you can add the options to use them to the action bar. Now other things, such as thieving, hunter, and agility, will probably need worked on after EOC comes out because of changed player avatars, actions, animations, and interfaces most likely. Who knows, Jagex might change the color drastically of some things as well too.
So for now, I'm going to be training hunter, agility, and thieving a lot before the update and hopefully get them all to 99 :D. They're all in the 90s atm. What about you guys? What are you going to train before EOC hits?
This won't making color botting easier. Evolution of Combat gives us even more colors to work with. Will make it harder to detect monsters because there will be more color matches.
Anyways, I'm not really looking forward to it as it will be one of the biggest changes in RuneScape ever. I'm barely playing RuneScape so it doesn't really effect me though.. but I have been working on my old staker, currently 1m xp off 99 defence then I have maxed melee :P
We shall see..

I'll like EoC's key short-cuts, but indeed if there be more colors, searches take a little longer or get less accurate. Hopefully GLHook isn't messed up when the update comes, as that will hopefully take control over color :)
Any who, looking forward to the update
Cheers
Lj!

What do you mean "more" colors? Are they actually adding more colors to the game, or do you just mean that they'll be changing a lot of them around?
Also, the poll looks pretty tied up atm. Interesting :garfield:

I voted no, because it isn't really better. Doesn't change much, just makes us have some minor adjustments to our combat scripts :p

I personally never tried this out so I don't know where my opinion would stand in this conversation. IMO, I think it's just something we'll all have to get used to. After some time and everyone's gotten the hang of it I'm willing to bet no one will be complaining about it. It might be a pain at first to handle for all I know, but I'm willing to atleast try, aren't you?
Guess I should try and get a firecape/kiln cape before it goes live then..
So is dual wielding members only or not? And are those new armors available to F2P like they are in the beta?

This will probably be similar to the HP bars, but on a larger scale. At first everyone rants and thinks it's ruining the game, then we look back and wonder how we used to cope.

I guess it will, with all the abilities making things easier. But my membership runs out on the 14th, so I want to try and get one before then. Probably wont be getting membership again, so may as well attempt Fight Caves

A question on this update that I have failed to see (and Im old so ya know how us oldies are lol) ….
With the fact that the beta has been ongoing with the EOC, has there been a SRL group working on an update for us to make this transition as smoothe, painless, and as fast as possible?
I'm pretty sure this won't effect too many of our functions tho we will be broke for a period of time while the community puts there heads together and fixes the damage to the include.
An estimated time until fixed is unknown and will remain so until all problems are solved there will no doughty be a thread made to inform us all and for us to share our thoughts/ideas on the sibject.
So sit tight and wait and see.

To be honest it's pretty damn similar… Change screen size to fixed bla bla bla.. its the same screen just with a bar on the screen

I keep hearing people saying that EOC will be released along with HTML 5, but it's seems to be just hearsay, nothing official. If this is the case, will SMART get shut down?

Well with the new combat system you will have more colors because of all the special abilities. It will be harder to detect monsters because you have a bigger chance of getting wrong matches.

They have mentioned it already coming sometime next year I think (the end of next year?). Here's the news article that talks a little about it near the bottom:
http://services.runescape.com/m=news/a=382/mod-mmg-on-runescape-micro-paymentsI would post the pictures of it here, but they're too big, the graphical improvements look great however, can't wait for it ;)
I am really looking forwards to EoC I feel like Runescapes combat has always lacked greatly ^_^
I took a look at it yesterday, and scripting wise it will break a lot of functions. (magic tab is very different.) that and a lot of DTMs will be broken, but that's not a difficult fix. And coordinates will need updating of course.

Are you flipping spirit shields/nex armour? Is that how you're making so much? ;)
Anyways, the poll is pretty even atm, I guess there's no definite answer for if the EOC will making botting better for us yet. I guess we'll find out soon. ;)

Even with all fancy asian-mmorpg effects on the screen DTMs should work pretty solid.

PVP in EOC is better imo. More things to do and more intensity in general but I'm not feeling sure about combat botting. I'm not going to jump in head first after the update and I generally don't bot combat much anyways so not much loss for me if it doesn't work for a while.

Yea pvp is better in my opinion too. But it needs some improvements. Like making levels more effective, 80str and 99str doesnt really matter, a 150 can beat a 200 easily and they should make wilderness levels doubled.
About combat botting, I dont think it will be harder, XP will be faster, fights will be longer. We just need to make functions to detect a cool down for an ability.

This is like another game I used to play before it got too easy… Its called MapleStory. Before Ver 2,3 came out, it took 1 month to get to level 30 ( with a max of 200 )… Now it takes a day… No offense, but RuneScape is just making it easier to get higher with a refreshing interface to attract new players who shunned the previous combat system which was somewhat based on a virtual dice.
