In the movie "2012" New York flooded in October… Which just happened…
Anyone here legitimately believe in 2012?

No I don't believe in 2012 because my runescape membership says it's going to run out in January 1, 2013 and I believe it will.

The mayans didn't have leap years, Doomsday should have already happened.

maype leap years are just bs and science is wrong (science is often changed, just look at the way electricity flows….)

We know leap years should be occurring because the earth takes a little over 365 1/4 days to revolve around the sun.

we're definitely all done for
I forget where but somewhere I heard that the Mayans would have celebrated this day as it marked the end of their calendar and the beginning of a new one. Thus, no 2012.

I dont believe in it, I've read the last chapter of the bible, personally, thats what i believe will happen, but in saying that, i am not really religious anymore.
Dont bash me either, i am allowed an opinion.

2012 did happen, it's been happening this entire year..
This is real. 2012 does indeed exist unless you have been hibernating for 11 months. And definitely, we will all die. History has proven that no man is immortal.

I'm more worried about the end as a result of nuclear warfare or biological warfare. Apparently there's some US military units who literally just began
"zombie apocalypse training" on Oct. 30th (or 31st?) (Halloween).
I don't believe anything will happen,
as does NASA.
I highly doubt it will happen.

From what I've heard, the Mayan Calendar didn't count leap years until 45 BC, so the world should've ended months or years ago. Who knows.

If anyone of us truly believed in 2012, we would all stop going to school / work and live the remaining days of our lives to the fullest by doing anything and everything you ever wanted to do. The teachers wouldn't bother teaching you if they believed it and people would splurge their entire life savings on lavish things like fancy dinner / clothes / car / house. So if there is anyone who voted 'Yes', could you please mind telling me what you are going to spend the 'remaining days of your life' doing?
In my opinion, the Mayan Calendar is just like any Calendar. When it reaches the final day, it just repeats itself over again in a cyclic manner.
2099.
Thats when the microsoft calendar ends.

Heaven's Gate mk2 seems worryingly likely, then again, last turnout wasn't great.
Has anyone been counting how many world ending threats there have been recently? Hadron collider black hole, rapture, 2012, the aforementioned…
If people really thought it would end they would be literally freaking out, not going to school/work or living normally. And I don't mean saying "Yolo", because that is just obvious (unless you're hindu, I really wish I believed in that). On topic, No. Nor have I met anyone that believes in the world ending in 2012 either.

Heaven's Gate type stuff actually scares the ___ out of me. Not the whole asteroid spaceship thing, just that people really bet their life on it. :(

I (and probably the others that jokingly voted yes) just find the theory so absurd that it's not even worthy to be taken seriously and scientifically rebutted; a common-sense reasoning would be sufficient.
