I won a pumpkin amulet, which I almost converted to coins. I thought it was a stupid looking cosmetic item. A quick search on RS Wiki reveals 68k free bonus expierence.

No. Let's say the necklace gives double xp. If you do something that normally gives you 100xp during bxp, that would be 100normal xp + 100 bxp. Then it wouldn't be 200xp x 2, it would be just like the 1st equation, adding up to a total of 300xp. Sorry for the poorish explanation, but you should get the point ;)
