smart phone dilemma

I am looking to getting a new phone- the problem is I am looking for a phone that could be/is suitable for light reading.

I had google'd countless brands and models, but reviews on these phones's functionality as an e-reader are rather dismal.

Could you guys throw out some phone suggestions or name a few first hand experiences with your smart phone for me

I personally use an old nokia phone to handle phone related stuff, and have an iphone for games/apps/3g internet. Bringing the brightness to the minimum possible works well for me. (I also have my PC screen brightness at around 20% so I'm used to it)

I have a Galaxy S3 and it actually works pretty well as a e-reader, also I have friends that use iPhones and it works pretty well to. Depends on your preference for a phone but android or iPhone are pretty good for e-readers. Although off topic I find tablets work amazingly better I have a playbook and it is amazing for reading

Yeah I'd say get a tablet if you want something more for reading. I have a Galaxy Nexus (smartphone) which I use for reading sometimes. It's pretty good, I use an app called "Aldiko" which works pretty well and has different settings such as a night setting which turns the page black and letters white. But yeah if you want to get a smartphone, one with a bigger screen would probably be better, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 1 or 2, which have a 5.3" and 5.5" screens respectively.

Most android phones support FBReader (best app out there for this). The new HTC One X+ Is supposedly good, try getting that?

Honestly I'd keep your phone and reading separate, I was on the bus the other day and talked to this girl who was reading off of a kindle, seriously night and day difference compared to reading off a phone. The kindle looks like a page out of a book and is not hard on the eyes at all.

This is also very true^^^ But if you have to get a phone, get the One X+ or the Galaxy Note 2.

Just avoid the Iphone 5 since there has been a lot of issues with the phones.

I love reading on my kindle way more than my iPhone. If possible I would get both and only use the iPhone when you can't carry a kindle around

I read plenty on my iPhone 5 and it's decent but I would rather have a larger screen with HD resolution like the Samsung S3. It will allow more text on the screen and better viewing. So definitely a large screen (4+inches) would be the the target for an ebook reader…

I read on my Kindle, my Playbook, and my iPhone.
Kindle is the best for reading, if you're not as lazy as me to transfer your stuff via USB
