I don't know much of anything about overclocking but I want to give my cpu a buff. Anyone overclocked before?

CPU: intel i5-2500k
Motherboard: ASRock Extreme3 Gen3
Graphics Card: XFX HD-695X-CNFC Radeon HD 6950 2GB
Ram: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB

2500k is nice to overclock. I highly suggest purchasing a cooler like a Scythe Mugen II. You can easily overclock it to 4 Ghz. The best tutorials are found by google'ing the processor & motherboard combo.

Well, easiest way to do it is to grab some great MoBo to begin with, for example most of the mid to top-end Asrock mobos have preset OC options, you simply change clock value in bios from default to whatever x.x (its preset options ) and it does all the adjustments needed.

However I believe this is not the case for you (I believe ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 does not support this ) so basicly you are better of with thread like this;

Do you have an Aftermarket cooler for your cpu ? Otherwise I really don't advice ocing at all if you don't.

I'm pretty sure the 2500k is good to OC on stock cooler at least a bit (.5 Ghz for sure). As suggested, google is your friend.
