Forced teleport has been discovered many years ago. It won't take too long for someone plotting how to scam people every day to find out this.
The problem is, you certainly need some kind of glitches (if still exist) to be able to keep your party status after leaving Daemonheim, so i'm not sure how the lurer can possibly do that to the victim.

This would work with absolutely any item, not specifically a phat.

If you are stupid enough to go that close to the wilderness with your own phat with a guy asking you randomly to 'help him lure' you deserve to get it stolen.

I own a Phat, and will never get that close to the wild with it on…. Ever.

I'll never own a Phat I'm pretty sure, best I have right now is a Santa and about enough gold for a second (which I plan to spend skilling). I usually bank my Santa even if I'm leaving a city to go do Slayer or w/e. I keep it on for safe minigames and such, but if there's a danger of dying for real, in the bank it goes. If you take a Phat within a stone's throw of the Wildy, you can only blame yourself for losing it.

I have rares.. but I never wear them, not a huge fan of people asking me for handouts. So I guess I won't be seeing this happen to me :P

If I ever get enough for a santa or a h'ween mask, I'd be super cautious. That and when someone comes up to me saying "want 2 double all ur moneez with this glitch i found" I just tell them to go away. Same with the "help me lure this guy -who's wearing combat robes-, he won't go for it unless you wear full sara when you go in the wildy with us"
I guess my BS detector is doing all right :D/
