Really, that long? Assuming you get a random every few hours which would mean that you get a random every 10 hours, that's way too long! And I've been hearing about randoms every 300K/exp, is this true?

It depends on several factors, including total level, game played since last log out, no. of randoms failed previously etc. Xp rate is just one of them.

Not necessarily, if you fail just one random, then you get many more until you successfully complete quite a few in a row.
