Hmm, So if that was the case, private scripts would be "safe" compared to public scripts correct?
In my opinion, this is usually the case.
I've spanned 100m mage xp on a private simba script I made; this isn't to say that my script is good or immune from being banable, yet I'm able to enforce my unique game play (how I go about the game) to the full extent. I generally like randomizing the methods from one account to the next. I wouldn't want Player2 of mine doing the same uniqueness game play that I designed for Player1.
Granted this has nothing of real significance, as botters, thus far in RS can get away on the scale of players using the same script in the thousands/tens of thousands [well built to get 1-10k+ uses :p].
However I do support the fact that top players tend to get an over look, which I do think is justified. For instance, if I got 200m Dung XP by nolifing it for the first several months it was out (a typical top player tactic), if I were jagex, I'd grant that account leeway for hours played per day. This wouldn't extend to excluding bot like behavior (ex. mouse movements), but time played would obviously
not be a factor. Another idea for them to exclude time played (if they choose to use it in the BB update to target botters) from top rank legit players could be based off of adventure log time/your time played (
not how long you've had your account physically in existence).
All in all (getting back to the BB update main post), I think, at best they will study for x time more - in order to warn/ban 100% positive bots. At worst they'll have no decent detection and the kajillion people all using the same script (i.e. when 1k green dragon bots all go for a loot on the other side of the dungeon that isn't visible..) will continue gold farming/getting
free-bie's.
Just my take.
Cheers,
