How many problems can we expect per week? Just one or multiple like the examples? And I see that the winners are selected each month and he/she will get 1m gp. I like the initiative but a 1m prize is pretty much useless. For me the place in the Leaderbord/Hall of Fame would be 'worth' more already. Maybe a temporary cup is more suitable as it actually has some value on Villavu. But any way is fine, I'll be joining for the fun of it :P

Btw, in the solution template you have "fileOut := RewriteFile(FIlE_OUTPUT, False);" and I guess you want it to be FILE with a capital L :P Anyways, looking forward to this :)

Meh, it's a little incentive to get people to actually participate :p (1 mill used to be a lot when I played RuneScape :( )

Okay thanks for the answers :) I'm not sure when you played but around 2007 I believe 1 mill was also worth $5 AND was also valued as quite high on RuneScape. Nowadays it's 0,40$. But a 1M price is a nice symbolic way of winning anyways :) Looking forward to the start of this competition. The competitions lately have been a motivation to script for Simba instead of anything else :P

Just letting you know that week 1's problems have now been posted.

I already got an idea for both problems. Will def. work on it when I am back from school.

I have a few ideas for both, and will be attempting at least one of them. First I'll have to learn file reading/writing, but that shouldn't be difficult at all.

Just did.. That was painful.. Can't believe Lape doesn't have safebound indexing.. -___-

Last time I port anything to Pascal/Lape for sure. Disappointed more and more I use it. It's the same code I used for University of Ottawa Comp..
