Ok, so I cant find a way to lock the scroll bar ( I would like to know how to do this for firefox and/or chrome) say im on a certain position on a page and i click a link or button and it opens a new tab and when i close that new tab i want the original page to stay where i had it. this doesent happen everytime but happens enough to annoy me. I appreciate any help! plugins/addons or a program …suggest anything

Get Opera.

well can you link me or tell me how to do it with opera lol

If I understand you correctly, chrome does this automatically for me, the scroll bar never moves unless I move it. Unless you are on about the smartphone version?

I never had your problem and I use Opera. The scroll bar stays at where I put it if I make a new tab/switch tabs. It even stays the same when I use the back button to go to another page. ie if I was on the general forum page somewhere in the middle, clicked on the link to a forum, went back, it would be still somewhere in the middle.
