Obviously this is the whole game mechanic(system) that will detect the bots. Don't bot after the update or that will grant you an ban.

Too late - they've been collecting data for the past 3 months. Banwave might not be today, but it's coming.

I believe they said that your pre-sins of botting before the update will not count(only if you are a regular player and not an huge goldselling-bot-every-green-dragon-and-sell-items-for-rsgp-and-sell-it-for-real-money). But if you bot after this system goes live, you are busted.

MMG did state that previous botters if they stop wont be banned. Just Saying.

Whatever system they may have, there is no way to reliably detect a simple alch bot, provided that it has the necessary randomization and anti-ban etc, and an effective breaking system. For most simple tasks, it is possible for the script to be completely human-like. Probably only complex scripts would be detectable unless it is extremely carefully designed.

Break a complex script into simple parts, give each simple part sufficient randomness, add a good antiban procedure, It's just as good as a simple script, no?

So when is Botany Bay coming out? Tomorrow? :o

Jmod posted in RSOF saying botany bay won't happen today, late updates as always. I suppose it'll be tuesday along with the al kharid rework+quests.

I almost never bot on my main, so Im still gonna be fine.

To me, all this means is I will have to babysit my bots, not run them at night, or at school.

^This, I've been botting until this morning and my main isn't banned or even close. Haven't been goldfarming, just blending in with other players

Goldfarmed for my main's santa and h'ween set with 1 acc. Not banned. (yet?)

botted six 99's on my main lol. Was in the process of 99 fishing and cooking when this got released. we will see if he is still around later…

My classmate didn't get banned, he left his bot on all day today and this night won't ne any different. Jagex lied about botany bay's release date…

So my take on it is they're getting a list of the bots atm and will nuke'em next week and have a huge celebration/change the RS homepage/announce it to everyone in the world, just like they did last year.

I've gone through the script and the randomization is fairly solid, using a slightly modified version of Teh's alcher. But I've been 24/7ing and in the same spots (where else to alch except soul wars and daemonheim), so I'm fairly worried.

God, if you bot the same thing more then 6 hours a day, you are asking for a ban.

More than 6? Lol I've done more than 6 hours a day on one thing legit. I botted 99 strength in f2p doing 12-18 hours a day in the same spot, every single day. 6 hours is just unrealistic, not even a good night's sleep.

Legitting is a different story. If you are continuously doing the exact same thing for six hours without a break, jagex will eventually catch on. Everything in the past means nothing, their bot-detection was crap. They might have finally brought out the real deal this time.

Bot detection in 06/7 was amazing compared to what they're using now. Using default SCAR Functions like Mouse and botting 2 hours a day would get your auto miner perm-banned.

Now you can bot moss giants for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, max out your char and not even get an infraction.

Unrepentant and persistent bot-users will now find themselves banished to Botany Bay. This foreboding island is the staging ground for trials run by the Botfinder General, where there's only one verdict and justice is swift and uncompromising.

Those of you wishing to take part in the trials can speak to any of the trial announcers found in major Gielinor cities. You'll be teleported to the courtroom on Botany Bay, and given access to portals that can take you back any time. You'll be invited to pelt the condemned with rotten tomatoes, and will be asked to vote, along with other like-minded players, on one of three account-ending punishments:

Death by Crushing: Nothing says "banned" like a bot pancake.
Death by Swallowing: Watch as the bot is devoured by something unspeakable from the Abyss. Mm…crunchy.
Death by Deity: Righteous rays of bot-melting justice are the choice of the discerning angry mob.

Vote in three trials, and you'll be rewarded with a wieldable pitchfork of vigilantism. After that, the next three trials you vote in will unlock increasingly angry emotes, which can be performed by right-clicking your pitchfork. Finally, your seventh trial will reward you with the gloriously pointy pitchfork of justice.

We will continue to evolve our anti-botting measures to hunt down those guilty of trying to spoil the game for genuine players. So while we continue with the investigations, the trials can commence for those already found out!

Like 10 minutes and not a single bot was spotted at botany bay. Looks like a great update again, what's the use if you get a few warnings before you are banned?

My heart stop too when I got the message that my 2nd account was banned permenently without receive any warning, even though I am using that account for botwatch system experiment.

Jagex's solution to the botting problem: Ban everybody!

I'm not logging in until this is fixed, but I checked my highscores and I have not been banned. :)

EDIT: Now the twitter link is not working. I feel bad for all the people who were unfairly banned while in GWD or similarly dangerous areas. When Jagex unbans them and they log in, they are going to die.
