A Short Summary for the Future of Botting in RS (with pictures)

So RuneShark just released this video that gives a really good summary of the recent livestream that Jagex did about the upcoming "bot watch" and Botany Bay + other anti-bot features. Now the livestream is about 1½ hours while this video is about 13 minutes, so it saves you a lot of time by highlighting the major points brought out in the livestream! Plus it has some pretty neat pictures ;) Enjoy!

Also I know that a bunch of threads have been made about the recent livestream, but I felt that this should be posted because it brings out some points that I haven't seen discussed yet. So hopefully we can start a discussion about some of those things. And again, I don't claim responsibility for making this video, It's not like I'm Simon or James or anyone *shady look*

It's not stupid, it's for people who want a 10 minute recap of a 100 minute stream.

I missed the livestream, I'll be sure to watch this when I get a minute. Thanks for the link.
For a botting community, the results of the poll are quite interesting. I would like to see a poll like this on PB. Likely the exact oposite result! :D

So what do you guys think of some of the additions/changes to how things work? The way the new reporting system will work is quite interesting and depending on how often people in different places are reported will apparently dramatically increase/decrease ban rate. Theyre supposed to be "moving" their bot watch thingy into highly botted areas or places where they think bots are likely to be at/places that are reported. So I guess by "moving", they mean when accounts are in that place, they watch them more carefully than when they're in other places. Whether that's good or not depends, but we might have to start making more "odd" scripts, that is scripts that bot in remote places or places where players dont go that often. The new factor now might very well be how AND where we bot.
What are your guys' ideas?

By the reports it tell them where the bots are and where they might need to start focusing more if it is somewhere they did suspect before. They arent going to take from one place to watch another. From what i got from the livestream they are going to be able to watch EVERYONE, ALL THE TIME (from what they say) with the automated system. But The reports just show them where there is suspected botting activity,

I think the main purpose of these bot nuke is to stop "commercialized bot". Since once the script be distributed or started being sold, the place that the script design for will be flooded with bot.

As long as we bot smart, during regular hours a day and with breaking systems/high level antiban, we will be safe.

From what I gather, if this time it really turns out successful, I reckon that RS is going back to the old days where they are much harder on botting. Ban rates were much higher back then and with the new tech which they are implementing, it might not be a good sign for us
One thing I wanna know is, Can they make the map bigger? Like a whole new area not just something small like Soulwars but I mean like 10 falador's put together, new places to explore new resources. Or have they already reached 2b when it comes to that? :P
That's an interesting idea, I just figured they were too lazy to expand the map.
And OT: I should get the gravedigger mask and emote before its too late! :D

Although they are going after all bots, simba will still have an edge if we bot responsibly in different places the powerbot and epicbot, because it sounded like a big factor would be the heatmap. Stay off the heatmap and you're partway there.

Unfortunately, when Powerbot and Epicbot go down, this place will get flooded, and I guess we know what will happen next

Good point, we should make a new section for junior srl+ members and move most of the scripts we have to there. Then that will keep the pb /epicbot leeches at bay for awhile :p
PS: It looks like 80% of Simba are looking forward to this update so far. Interesting :s

I did vote for yes about this update, but not because it may be a chance to beat powerbot or epicbot. I enjoy the advantage been bought by using bot, but I just don't want to make legit player feel desperated when trying to do some slayer task, mining, and cutting yew. And that's why I train mining in wilderness, and never making money by cutting yew.

I second that too, and I do remember back in the days, it was segregated like that with Junior Member section and a public. But not sure if it would be re implemented

Or maybe they have to get a certain post cost before they can use scripts?
But just the non-noob freindliness about simba where you actually have to kinda of know what you are doing will keep most people from being able to bot… Althought will prolly lead to spam of people asking for help.. I guess we will have to wait and see :p

True, but then also add getting back into house after logout or 6 hr thing. But that wouldn't be too hard either!

Hmm I wonder when this is gonna be released. There's only next week until October comes, so I guess Hafiz is gonna have to release this AND the Al-Kharid update + quests at the same time. Seems a little big to me all at once. So idk what they're gonna do >.<

So if you would see the original video ,they are mentoining that they special aim at colour bots, as they been untouched for long. So I wonder how will they detect whatever your are color bot or not? Maybe they get out something from Simba librabry ,but mouse moves are pretty much randomized so Idk

Thats the thing. Our entire library is public, which IMO, makes us easier to find ingame.

I voted yes because I am maxed now and have no real reason to bot other than to make some spare gps on the side. And because it makes old methods of money making viable again!

Personally, Im not very pleased with some of the answers to the questions, but it's not like something can be done about that, so whatever.
Um as for random events, I actually like them. Because the little lamps of exp they give, actually help get some lvls in skills I dont particullarly like *cough* dungeoneering, which is thanks to lamps lvl 70 as of yesterday.

I voted no. On the live stream Mark states that they will be targetting color bots in particular, and that they will be removing random events, which I enjoyed.
In order to weed out leechers, we should probably just force them to make 10 meaningful posts during which time they are not able to see the script section at all, apart from the fact that it is there.

Personally I appreciate Jagex's efforts to stop the bots :D every time they try, injection bots break and it clears the way for me to bot using Simba (which stays untouched).
