[Confirmed] No more Random Events

Jake

2012-09-16 21:52:51

According to the RS Livestream on Bots, Random events will be removed from the game, but their "personalities will be left in the game" (basically they'll be wandering around or have specific places where players can visit for fun. ex: evil chicken lair)
They will also take part in court cases, Mod Mark states that he hates them, and that they have costed players "alot of experience".

well for that to happen, they must have upgraded their botting system… even after the big bot nuke, they didnt remove randoms. this new botting system will be far more interesting than i initially assumed

People assume this is an end all be all, do you really think the multi-million dollar botting industry will let botting die.

I would think not, maybe we won't have access for a while but the gold farmers will be back faster than we could believe.

Sounds great. That's the only thing that stop me from botting 24 hours a day.

I have a feeling that alongside them removing these random events that stop you botting 24/7 they will implement better detection that means if you do bot 24/7 you will be banned rather than caught in a random.

We have become far too complacent with their lack of banning lately and I'd hate to see the rude shocks many people get when they bring this new update in.

I'm relatively sure You haven't been there in the early rs2 years have no idea what they are capable of if they decide to start banning for real. Most of the botters today got dragged into botting during nexus period when they watched the other way and let the shit flow.

Go on, bot for months, most likely this is going to end up like the early rs2 years when your chars got banned within few days if you botted recklessly so theres most likely not going to be MONTHS for your one account, rather days. I really believe this time they are for real.

Keep low for some time. Use common sense while botting. Nurture your players, put some friends on the list, change scripts/skills, dont bot 24/7 but at regular times chat a little, do a small quest, simple things. But foremost……bot with utmost care untill this storm blows over.

Good advice :P
I've just been working on making the Molly Random better and now there's this news. I'm still going to make it better because there is no date when the random events will get removed. I'm busier with school than expected though. We'll see if I can release it and make a pull request before they are removed.

Love how admins always give the same sort of advice. :p
Don't get me wrong though, it's good advice that I will be following.

Based on what they had done recently, they're going to have a cash shop where you can buy all those items :D

Or maybe through RSOF :p

This! Everybody keeps saying thinks like ''they can't touch us'' and we will be back soon, not only on this forum but a lot of other forums to >.<
I also believe Jagex is able to do sirious damage to bots ^^
But I think it will be the refelction/injection bots that will be damaged most. Not the color bots i think. But we will see how this will come together. Is there a ETA on when this is going live?

I like this. All they really need to do is add some common sense to their macroing detection… If someone plays nonstop for 5 hours, they are botting. If they don't log off unless an update happens, they are botting. If they do only one skill with the exact same method and nothing else for a month, they are botting.

I dunno, in my mind I'd think just the opposite. Random events are good ways for Jagex to detect bots, and they've been improved time after time. Even now it's difficult to create a solver using color. So for Jagex to remove them all together it must mean they're more than confident in their new detection system. I guess most people wouldn't realize it but for Jagex to completely remove all random events… that's really saying something about their new system, it should be an obvious warning for us not to take it too lightly.

I watched their live stream, they sort of had the attitude that says "we won't hurt you if you don't goldfarm", because all they talked about was goldfarmers and such, basically the people that destroy the game. I think we'll be fine no matter what.

Played for 7+ hrs straight without botting
I've sometimes didn't log out before an update (running to bank in a rush)
I've gotten 99 WC on a skiller account for a month straight with all other skills at 1

Did you click at the same rate all the way through, with minimal misclicks? No, you probably had breaks in between, and sometimes stood there afk while doing something else in the background, and checked on other in-game stuff.

Also, WC is a separate case because you can afk most of it.

Im New Sry

2012-09-17 16:15:57

If playtime is what it takes for Jagex to detect that we are botting, time to use the breakimg system! :D
I am playing legit for the last two days and will be for a few weeks until I am sure that this is all just a big bubble. But if it is serious, I'll probably have to say goodbye to RS…

They aren't a botting industry… you must be an idiot if you think that. The stream itself states that they are trying to end botting. Of course they will let botting die. Do you think they would have had a bot nuke if they weren't going to kill bots? I don't even think they are multimillion… Jagex itself may be multimilllion, but Runescape is far from that and falling.
A botting industry… pfft.

Read the post again. He wasn't referring to Jagex lol.. he was referring to PB, Epicbot, RiD, and all the other script selling sites and bot producers. And I agree, with all the money they've made from it already, they definitely won't let it die, they'll have to be forced eventually.

PS: Of course Jagex and RuneScape are a multimillion dollar company/product. $5-$8 minimum a month for membership x like 7million+ constant members. Oh and all the revenue coming in from SoF and Solo's store.. do the math lol..

There's actually less than 1.8m p2p accounts, a lot of which are free trial accounts :p

Runescape is still a multimillion dollar game, though.
