I am getting a new phone and there are so many choices I don't know which one to go for. I don't know much about mobile phones unfortunately :(. I am looking for a simple but good mobile phone that is less than £50. Anyone know a good mobile phone that is in that price range? Any help/tips or review websites would be much appreciated thanks!

I'm not sure but are any of the blackberrys around that price now?
They're pretty useful :)

Maybe an older blackberry but the newer ones seem to be around £100 which is too much for me.

have you tried second hand? That might be a good deal?
Are you getting one with a plan? If so is it a data plan? If you don't need a data plan get a android either free or around 50.

Second hand iphone 3GS. No doubt the best for the price atm. Inclusive of camera, compass and all your basic needs. Not too bad for a £50 budget.
Another alternative would be the old Samsung Galaxy S. The first one. But that's just my opinion

Get an older blackberry if you like texting, way better keyboard IMO than the earlier touchscreen phones (iphone 3GS has m@d lag)

Its gonna be hard to find a good, long lasting phone for 50.. I would suggest :
Samsung GT E1050
Samsung GT E1150
Good quality and all the basic functionalities you might need.

Hey got my phone now :). I didn't really need a smartphone because I already have an ipod touch so I decided not to go for a second hand smartphone. I was looking at the Samsung GT E1150 for a while and I almost bought it but instead I went for the Samsung Chat 335 which is more expensive at £50 but it has a QWERTY keyboard which I find really useful for texting. Overall I'm very happy with the phone, cheap and good for texting and going on facebook/twitter. Thanks for your help and suggestions they did help me narrow down what I wanted.
