Java Certificate Update
We're updating the signing certificate used to authenticate the applets used to run our games. The next time you log in, you'll be asked to accept this new certificate. This will only need to be done once - not each time you load the game.
Users of the downloadable RuneScape client will receive an error message when attempting to log in, until the latest version of the client is downloaded. You can find the latest version here.

It's a good idea to make sure you log in to Runescape through your normal browser and accept the Java Certificate before you use SMART, just to be on the safe side ? :p.

Well for botting in a web browser, i.e. firefox, chrome, yes I think you'd need to undoubtedly accept the certificate. However SMART uses the java you've installed so afaik it's no necessity to have it accepted before using SMART, afaik it's just an update for them to use java in browser game base. If I'm wrong, I'll delete this though, as to not cause confusion.

Well SMART acts as firefox afaik. I was thinking they are looking for the certificate to be signed by a proper web browser right ? so if your playing and the newest certificate they release isn't signed then you must be using a a dodgy browser ? I don't know lol. Just what I was thinking.

all websites have to have certificets or u get a warning saying the site may be illegitimate etc (basically it proofs the website is the real thing and not some phisher) you have to update it every now and again

The only thing I noticed that it broke was their own official client. SMART worked fine for me. :)
