Yeah it is, but dangerous for us, botters. :P Unless they haven't implemented any new stuff to detect bots.

That was a very interesting view, thank you. To see and hear the founders of Gajex, wow, good show. Loved the corny music behind it, to give it a little speed. Cheap Productions Inc. Are these movies produced every week? Good laugh.
This is my favorite part: "On the third time, they will be banned, straightaway! (01:25)". Ow boy, you gotta love those English.

But on a serious note: Exercise caution with your affairs. Seems like the Hand-Of-God is not displayed on our screen, so we dont have a clue wether we are spotted. Question is: will they compare I.P's now with this new Barbeque Bay? Otherwise we need to switch players quicker, and have more in queue. Also: have more flow in your script and build in (check out antiban.simba) and a public responder would be nice too now. Maybe lets also reintroduce bot-bot private convos, we had that once.

All-in-all, interesting times indeed!

Bot-bot convos was something I was thinking about doing a while ago. And Botany Barbeque?

How the fk will they tell the difference between bots and non-bots with bank skills like fletching/herblore/crafting?
Will be an interesting thing to see anyway lol :D

Repetitive actions, constantly doing the same shit, clicking SW chest only from East corner. :)

Even though we are doing repetitive actions, but we did it randomly like humans. Even opening the bank chest clicks on random positions, with random of right click and left click opening. Basically, its more human than just normal bots. I don't think it will be easy to detect.

There is a new BTS video on the mechanics of catching a bot HERE. All in all the new update is aiming at "watching all players at all times". they give you 2 warnings. the first one is a small temp ban, the second is much longer, and then you are banned.

Apparently Jagex is going to watch for repetitive movements and long log times instead of finding clients.

Thank you, updated the OP.

I ain't gonna bot now, well for atleast 'till the mass ban passes. And the new detection system they described could actually work wonders if it was true.

uh…oh, gonna have to reduce login times :/.

Just thought about one thing: Jagex said, they will be monitoring every single user for the 1st time ever. Havent they claimed such things many times before? Seems like all the previous was a load of bs lol (and mayb this1 too?).

That moment when both accounts get banned for RWT :P

I'd divide it into pieces if I were you.

Well, they give you plenty of warning, so we should be able to determine what qualifies as "bot like" because 90% of skilling looks that way anyway :/

I have been playing for a long long time and I cant imagine they will be able to monitor every player all the time and track all their movements for similarities, and develop a program to analyze pattern behaviour, and separate the patterns of botters from non-botters, and accurately dictate which accounts "could" be botting.

Seems a little absurd to me … reflection bots I get … color bots not a chance. At least not with a well scripted bot. This just sounds like another round of smoke and mirrors to me.

I'm not sure, Jagex has managed to create a massive game like this so I think they are definately able to develop something like that. Especially with the help of Jacmob since last year.

At the end of the day, how ever the bot is coded by colour etc, Colour bot do the same thing over and over again, injection bots over and over again.
Thats what there looking for same the mouse running same Paths to items, and that sort a stuff, I think the script will have to become a lot more advanced to help hide the fact were botting.

I've a feeling that we'll see a steady stream of shows for a quite a while (thanks to goldfarmers). I'd find it quite funny to see a world/worlds where there is always a bot being trialed for 1month + after release date :p Who knows, looking forward to witnessing it nonetheless!

Lol, I just finished my 1st ever and very basic (and probs a ban-machine at this state) script. It seems that there is a LOT more to learn now due to this update, if I actually want to run things without a ban :/

Footy

2012-09-07 15:55:08

Not much more to learn, just be a little more deep with you're antiban. Instead of having an antiban procedure called a couple times, why not randomize a bunch of stuff? Make a bunch of case random(x) of statements whereever you can to make stuff random.

print

hope you're right :). I wonder if it would be too bad-ass to high-alch while watching other bots die at B-Bay :D ?

Im unconcerned. It's a joke they give you a warning first so no matter what you cant get banned right away. As soon as you get the warning stop botting.

Or improve your scripts. :stirthepot:

It's actually the same as what they did last year. 2 temp bans before you get perm banned, they just raise your ban meter on your account. I got it like every 2 weeks to one month last year at sorc garden.

Plus they have all that extra money from the SoF and Solo's Store lol. Remember in a vid they made about a week or two ago? It said that they had a lot more employees and a bigger team than they did before with all the money from the SoF/Solo's Store(/goldfarmer memberships). So I believe they would have the resources/people now to observe every accounts movements. Also they're only observing the 130k or so people in game at a time. And if this system works, that number would decrease since a lot of the bots would be gone/ temp banned, so it would become easier with time.

So all in all, I'm probably gonna take a mini break after this thing comes out and see what happens. Good luck developers!

PS: Suggestion: stock up on botted supplies then sell to make bank after this is released!! ;)

2012-09-07 21:17:12

I don't know whether to just bot as much as possible until this comes out or play legit. Prior to this video I was planning on playing legit for the next week but I am not sure if that will be time wasted where I could of been botting. I suppose it would safer now than after this update for sure anyway, right?

Chris!

2012-09-07 21:41:02

After all the bans they've been handing out to obvious botters; they're giving other botters two chances? Stupid, stupid Jagex.

Will be interesting to see how effective this is against not only injection bots, but colour bots aswell.

They never mentioned increasing their bot detection programs with this update (unless I missed something completely obvious). I think this is mostly to give legit players the illusion that Jagex is updating bot detection by making the process a bit more visible.

Obviously. Legits will go crazy when they see hands poining at people at LRC or chinchompas or whatever.
