Runescape is in serious trouble. Free-2-Play is threatened in its existence. Botting is once again seriously destroying the game at an alarming rate. While some may think Jagex deserves it, SRL believes this to be a big mistake. Botting on such a massive scale is stupid, provocative and frankly quite dangerous since it quashes the very basis of our own existence. It is on this light SRL is reaching out a helping hand to Jagex by releasing BotCatcher. BotCatcher reports level-3 and level-4 's.


Why do we do this?

• SRL has been and will always be respectful towards Jagex. We try to be a leech-free community and demand input and creativity from our Members. We feel that recent events will ultimately lead to the destruction of f2p runescape. Unless we do something, we will all end up empty handed, for at this rate of botting, runescape will be gone pretty soon.
• Someone out there is selling runescape bot-liscences. His only goal is to make money. He doesn't care at all for the game nor the underlying social and economical structure nor for the shear pleasure it gives to 100.000 mainly young players worldwide. And though RS has its dark sides, it is still a wonderful elaborate game, free for all. Destroying a free game is unethical and immoral.
• We want to make crystal clear we have nothing to do with any of these botting activities. While this has once destroyed Kaitnieks, it wont destroy us!
• Of course we are all aware that releasing this script is a controversial act, but it is not an act of war nor hostility but one of Reason. Point well made, stop destroying the game. Be creative, there are many way of cloaking your existence.

Seriously though. If you want this to be truly effective, copy and paste this exact message on the official RS forums (those who are RS members). Tell them to ban ALL level 3s silently cutting trees.

Did you fill out the player form? And once you run it, use alt+Tab to select the ScuneRape client and it will start choosing a world.(add an activate client in the script so you won't have to do this). Also remember you MUST use on a signed applet.

@lolpie, if you do paste that, then remember to edit out all the stuff about us. Because they can't run SCAR.

And this is pretty ironic that we(macroers) are helping out Jagex and trying to get rid of other macroers. But I really hope RSDemon dies, and soon.

This is genuinely a great idea. I hope that this will cut back on level three noobs swarming Draynor and south of Falador, etc. Although it may cut away at those people who bought popular pay scripts, they deserve it for being so…noobish. Good work to the person/people who made this, and I hope this makes a difference.

1st side: The maker. It is a chinese bot, and I have spoken with one of the sellers (NO I will not give you his contact info, so DON'T ASK). We were talking about economy, and he was very surprised that the minimum wage was around 7USD where I'm from. He asked me a lot of questions about living there, for example real estate and taxes. He said he knew many people living near him that play runescape completely to sell gps (dragon killers, for example). They have no better way to make money, and you want to take it away from them?

Second Side: This is Jagex's chance to catch all gp buyers. 95% of the people botting are doing it for real money, because of the above mentioned. I can tell Jagex can detect this bot, because I have heard about many people getting their mains banned for transferring funds. Jagex is tracking ALL of the money generated, and banning any higher level trades along with all unbalanced trades assumed to be sales.

Although this script may seem like a good idea, I think Jagex knows which accounts are bots and which are not, and are using this to track down other rule breakers and their mains.

Of course, I still do not understand why they don't offer to sell mills themselves, then ban anyone who buys :)

Nevertheless, good work, I suppose this will come in handy at some time.

You have to understand at this rate Runescape's economy could be crushed. So we have to save it. :\

10$ a mill has tumbled down to 4-5$, it's dropped dramatically due to botters.. Most people will be frustrated that they can't seem to make money in Runescape because of bots and they'll generally quit.

Did you notice that yew prices have actually gone UP? The botters aren't selling the yews for gp… I don't know what they are doing actually. But I think they will sometime soon.

Then compile them all and overwrite names, have someone of high status contact Jagex and tell them what we have done and give them the names. I won't be confirming anything.. but, their mass autoing is ruining Runescape, and that's fact.

Why are you not approving of this idea? Currently, this is the best way so just go with it…

Also, it be freaky if we could just contact "Runescape directors of personells" and send them our "ban everyone on this list file". Which they will still have to process through and what not… because they aren't going to just believe us, we could even mix in Zezima if we wanted to. So it's the same/or slower/more impossible speed….

Whatever. Efficient though, waiting a minute between reports. I guess this will work better than my idea… although 1 person could use mine, as it takes about 15 seconds per world. With this script, it would take…. like 20 minutes?

I've gotten sandwhch lady twice. Didn't solve either time.

I've gotten a random once as well. If you are on a world for 20-30 minutes you have a better chance of getting a random. So, if you are in a spot with tons of bots, and have 20 players to report every time you log in, then you might get a few randoms. If you're only reporting 5-10 per world I bet you will get very, very few.

wow… over 400 b0ts reported … closed the freaking report before thinking… also… wasnt there a script that did this i think credit should go to him for the idea at least because he did make it.. although this one is way better (maybe becuase it was written by wt) also.. i havent gotten a random in running it for 12 hours…but it did quit for some really odd reason… and when it first starts it only reported about 2/5s of the bots but soon reported them all…gg nh

Well, there are two points on that. It WOULD make the problem bigger which would also make it more urgent to Jagex. In other words depending on there solution that could (very small chance though) be a good thing.

But what's easiest isn't what's most profitable. Runescape f2p draws in members more effectively than any advertisement can. Jagex would kill the bot, not f2p.

Because all of us that have those kinds of accounts ( and more ) will reply with "WTF jagex I didn't macro at all I just wanted a cool woodcutting pure like everyone else geez thanks a lot I'm canceling membership" and then Jagex will be all "zomg what have we done never do that again omgzorz".

They can be quite gullible at times.

One key characteristic of the bots is that they use crap axes. Bronze, iron, steel. They do this because they can get them cheaply, and they can repair them cheaply.

NO real player is going to sit there and chop yews with a bronze axe. NOBODY.

Jagex should just check to see if someone is using a bronze axe to chop yews and ban every single one of them. They have all the item ids, it should be easy for them. Let's hear the "skiller pure" explain why they're sitting there hacking away at yews with a bronze axe…

The yew autoers are getting smart, tons of them are like lv10 ish now :(

w00t ran it for 7 hours till my pc needed to shut down for some reason but caught 78 bots just before the error and reported 68 :p!

There was an update to RS. RSDemon also has to be updated, they will be back. That's also probably the source of the 3 minutes passed message.

ran it over night but rs update stopped it.. im assuming thats why it got the 3 minutes have passed error like 7000+ times xD but over all nice script, could be a little faster but its my prolly my pc

Well, except for the one small problem of yew prices skyrocketing. Which makes yew longs more expensive, which makes alching more expensive, which makes training magic more expensive, which makes all the mage pures mad. If Jagex does that, I'm gonna flame their nooby asses :f:

You're wrong. As long as they want to make money for an extended time, they will not kill f2p. Kill f2p, and you're right for about a month. The addicted will suddenly pay to be members and there will be a short surge in income. However, doing that would make members like the rare market. No new ones are coming in because no one is getting hooked on f2p, yet you are steadily losing people (e.g. becoming 'too old', switching to WoW, too much work)

basically, if they have anyone on their team with half a financial brain, they won't drop f2p.

It with the password starring update now gets stuck at world switch page :S Is this gonna be fixed soon?

NO real player is going to sit there and chop yews with a bronze axe. NOBODY.

Jagex should just check to see if someone is using a bronze axe to chop yews and ban every single one of them. They have all the item ids, it should be easy for them. Let's hear the "skiller pure" explain why they're sitting there hacking away at yews with a bronze axe…

If they didn't, they'd just ban our accounts for using this script.

I edited mine to do a check to make sure the click registered correctly, and it seems to solve this problem.

Wow…this is a bigger problem then I thought.

The first world it logged in to, there were 25 lvl 3's cutting yews, so the script gets to work reporting them. And then about 10 minutes later. So many randoms started popping up. It was like having a different random every 2 minutes :p. And their anti-randoms are horrible, almost all of them either died or got teleported away to somewhere :).

is true. You could edit the script to make all the lvl 3, default everything. Make the script write the names down to a text document send it in. And tell them that we got the list from running a script etc. Wouldn't this be more effective since you wouldn't need to wait 3 minutes for every report…?

What would it do? Report every level 20 combat…? Only 10% of those reports would be true. And if you auto correctly, then it would have to detect your movements, not your skills/combat.

So no, it can't be turned against us (Good macroers) but can be turned against them (Bad macroers).

You guys. I agree some people on this forum are leaching all these bots and using them. But I also disagree. You guys are getting your self banned. All of you guys are banning some other guys in some other place who, either worked on the bot for 8 hours to get it right. Or who leached it. Now yes the chances are you will cetch a leacher. But what if you don't. how would you feel if you worked 8 hours on a bot used it and then some guys who did the exact same thing as you went and ran the bot detecting script. This is why I disagree. It's not fair d=for the people who actually worked hard on their scripts.

It would be extremely hard to make a script that doesn't look for differences in clothing/levels, but rather in your movements.

So if you auto correctly, this would just think of you as another legit player :).

You guys. I agree some people on this forum are leaching all these bots and using them. But I also disagree. You guys are getting your self banned. All of you guys are banning some other guys in some other place who, either worked on the bot for 8 hours to get it right. Or who leached it. Now yes the chances are you will cetch a leacher. But what if you don't. how would you feel if you worked 8 hours on a bot used it and then some guys who did the exact same thing as you went and ran the bot detecting script. This is why I disagree. It's not fair d=for the people who actually worked hard on their scripts.

They can do it but, THEY ARE BREAKING THE GAME TOTALLY! Alot of users of rsdemon are having about 80+ acc`s and cheating all at time..

It's not just because of their level idiot. It's also their clothes. As I said before, if these "skillers" work 24/7, and are too bloody lazy to change their clothes from default they sorta deserve to be banned.

The script looks for their default clothes/hair. Then it see's whether they're level 3 or not. And then it reports them. And if these skillers get reported, they're plain stupid.

Srry to say anow but with this amount of bots, skillers won't cut yews in draynor. AND if they were a n33b, why would they be by the yew long enough for us to report them… think about the chance that a noob would be standing by a yew with 25 other lvl 3's, and the script would report THE NOOB. The script doesn't report all of the bots, just a few.

ALSO, Jagex said that reporting for macroing just makes the crappy detection system look at the account. If there is no evidence, no problem. So spamming a bot really doesn't do much. Sending false reports for macroing is in no way against the rules or unproductive towards their detection system.

It's great that you guys are trying to do something to stop these bots - really, it is. I hate to put a damper on your spirits, but I honestly (and somewhat regrettably) think you are wasting your time.
I am 99% confident that bots which log in using 'RSDemon' are almost immediately 'flagged' as being macroers. I say this for a number of reasons, none of which are within the scope of this post. Simply put, the bot makes nearly NO attempt at evading detection systems.
I believe the only reason these bots remain unbanned for more than a few days is the fact that Jagex are watching them closely, in the hope of catching related accounts.

Strange…last night there were no bots at all at the yews, or the willows. So mine stopped with only 26 reports :(. Either we're doing more then we think, or RSDemon is down again?

Whoops forgot to copy and paste my proggie from this morning. I think it was 430 bots in 14hrs.

I really hope this is actually doing something for getting rid of RSdemon because they are saying they are going to release a miner and thats what my main autoing is, so less income for me and many others.

How you can get that good report? It always crashes for me on about 100 when choosing world.. It just start showing three minutes passed.. Did you changed something in script?

I had an account for reports… Called Ikillbots1 they perm banned for inapropriate name. I appealed it, the next day its locked, Im like, nobody has used this account, The only reason i made it was to use a program to report the bots for me so i dont have to play all the time. They havnt said anything back yet

Just to raise your attention im sure some SRL member have thought about this but i'm worried that us getting rid of lv-3 bots will make it easier for Jagex to catch us (when i say us i mean SRL Script users) because the jagex Autoing detectors can only ban as much but if there are less bots to ban they will pay more attention to us well i still use it hel i used it for 9 hours yesterday!

i was talking to the payonpal guy on msn yesterday and he sayed his server with all info on it got hacked.
every thing from cd-key to account info etc.
he is a bit strage i mean im not realy good at english but you guys understand me but this guy is realy understandable.
he sayed maybe other people would continue selling cd-keys but he stoped selling them.
ok this means : no cd-keys no bot
but as i sayed the guy is realy hard to understand so only rumours

Will we get banned if we use this script because of the new bot update on runescape? They also mentioned something about blocking you IP…

that would only be for the RSdemon users. Us that only use one account at a time shouldnt get ip bans :p. I told Jagex about RSdemon:p When I was appealing my ikillbots1 account, I was like, I only want to report users of the RSDemon bot with this account. then i went on explaining about RSDemon. Maybe Jagex hacked it :p

I'm guessing that you're using SCAR 3.01. Stick with SCAR 2.03 or whatever until all the errors are sorted out in the new version of SCAR.

Well, dude. Considering I sent Jagex a message saying that I was autoing to report RSDemon. And Jagex have read that, and I'm not banned. They basically want us to continue. As said earlier, I think that it was me who got us on the front page by sending them the message saying that I auto to report auto's. I bet the maker of Runescape even read my message :p. I'm dreaming eh?

So no, they won't ban you for running this script. I believe Jagex wants us to run this. They understand that RSDemon is ruining Runescape, and we're playing a part to stop them.

Thats was really immature and unnecessary, and Dunceiam had already told him what to do to fix the problem.


Anyways, on the topic about the runescape update "Bots and real-world trading".
Like I said on a previous page of this thread, I think my fears might come true.
They are "upgrading our detection and prevention systems" and I do believe that this will cause more bans for us (us being the ones that auto properly).

And I'm pretty sure something will happen to sythe.org since they have a huge blackmarket, And possibly Fagex.net too. We and Moparisthebest.com shouldn't be affected should we? We don't have a blackmarket so I wouldn't think so, but who knows. . .

I completely agree that all of these levels 3's have over done it.

I have played Runescape for a very.. very long time.

There was like two worlds when I started, no banks.. no wilderness, it was 2001 I believe. Anyways, I've just recently started back up and could not believe seeing what they have done to this game.

Dude that wasnt nice, i did skim through the pages before i posted though, i didnt find it then but i looked good a second time and found it.

These are just few of the hot spots.
Any F2P spot with a Yew or Willow tree will be swarmed with RSDemon n00bs.

Yeah, really any yew tree, there will be RSDemon goers :p. I personally always use the yew tree on the path from Draynor to Fally. (4th image, middle square) there are always at least 6 level 3's on that single tree.

How Do I Get The World Switcher To Work?? It Just Clicks On Location, Players, And Type Than Clicks On The Corner Of The Select A World…

nobody has gotten banned for using this, in runescapes 20k mass ban thing, only 2 or 3 people got banned from using scar. scar is definatly the best thing to use for autoing, but dont have one post looking for scripts, post around please.

i think this is an excellent idea. im going to set it up to run on one of my computers thats not in use so its not bothered by anything.

I run the script using SCAR 2.03 With SRL 3.6 it manages to use the window it sorts the worlds into orders but doesnt select any world at-all, i would really like to catch these annoying bots, could someone please help me

Jagex made the game, I think we can show 'em a little respect. Although we cheat the game, I'm pretty sure we do it in a much smaller and unique fashon.

Did you know that if you log out and back in, the 60 second delay is canceled? I just reported 6 bots in 1 minute legitly. It's much more efficient, however I doubt the speed could be captured in a scar script.

This script is meant for Scar Divi 3.06. You're going to have a bit of trouble running this now because they've just updated to SRL 3.8. This script doesn't work with the new SRL yet. My advice would be to get the new Scar and the SRL and wait for a newer version to be released.

Runescape is in serious trouble. Free-2-Play is threatened in its existence. Botting is once again seriously destroying the game at an alarming rate. While some may think Jagex deserves it, SRL believes this to be a big mistake. Botting on such a massive scale is stupid, provocative and frankly quite dangerous since it quashes the very basis of our own existence. It is on this light SRL is reaching out a helping hand to Jagex by releasing BotCatcher. BotCatcher reports level-3 and level-4 's.


Why do we do this?

• SRL has been and will always be respectful towards Jagex. We try to be a leech-free community and demand input and creativity from our Members. We feel that recent events will ultimately lead to the destruction of f2p runescape. Unless we do something, we will all end up empty handed, for at this rate of botting, runescape will be gone pretty soon.
• Someone out there is selling runescape bot-liscences. His only goal is to make money. He doesn't care at all for the game nor the underlying social and economical structure nor for the shear pleasure it gives to 100.000 mainly young players worldwide. And though RS has its dark sides, it is still a wonderful elaborate game, free for all. Destroying a free game is unethical and immoral.
• We want to make crystal clear we have nothing to do with any of these botting activities. While this has once destroyed Kaitnieks, it wont destroy us!
• Of course we are all aware that releasing this script is a controversial act, but it is not an act of war nor hostility but one of Reason. Point well made, stop destroying the game. Be creative, there are many way of cloaking your existence.

Thats ecause WelcomeToRunescape was added to the SRL-library, thus DIVI complains since there are now two functions with the same name.

Fix:

Either throw away the whole function from the botcatcher script, or rename it.

I've always had several problems with Bots and in my opinion I think they ruin the Economy, I'm glad there was a script for this so we can take out a good number of autoers. But no matter what I think we can all agree that there will always be Autoers.

Complete correct, that this script is released. When im walking at draynor, im seeing the lvl3s with their shaven heads. It is also correct that you dont destroy a f2p game. Really bless the maker of this script!

i love this idea and want to use it badly, but it doesnt seem to work. i made the edit so it sorts worlds and logs in, but then my char just stands there next to a tree ringed by bots until he times out and gets logged. any ideas?

also i want to mention something you all know im sure. that is the chinese bots are getting wise and a LOT of them are getting lvl 4 now. like i see swarms of lvl 4 like it used to be with lvl 3. same asian names, same behavior, same patterns, etc. same rsdemons obviously. and you will often see them without default clothes/hair anymore, and also more females lately. plus they now put on their random items, like camo shirt + leder hat etc.

i looked through the code but im no expert..what levels does it report? only 3? that would be bad like i said. and only default green bald guys? also bad. if possible please keep this script updated as they adapt these new tactics. [edit: my bad, the first post says 3 & 4. thats good :)]

i have an old pc in storage and i am willing to unpack it and dedicate it to running this script 24/7 if i can get it to start reporting. and especially if you will be keeping it up to date. i dont care if i get reporter accts banned for being logged in around the clock as its easy to make more. and its for a good cause.

oh i should mention i got errors with scar 3.11 + srl 4 beta, but scar 2.03 works (well it logs in like i said but thats all). i cant find the srl version number i have with scar 2.03 as i installed it ages ago, but i think its 350. its old anyway. whatever version was new when scar 2.03 was new.

only 'error' is

one last point. you should edit the original post to include that little number fix. i read all 20 pages and half the posts were about that same problem. totally unecesaary confusion :)

I'll fix it up (or maybe even rewrite it all) if I'm given permissions… I think I fixed it up last time a while back and got yelled at (though I don't really remember why, it might have been something else I did along with it).

Yeah, a more effective way would be asking, "Are you a bot" several times. If you don't get a response, it reports them. If it did that, it would contribute to the completion of cautorespond.scar in SRL as well :)

So called "mass bans" do nothing. Always botted, and their new detection systems and bans have never caught me.

Have you seen f2p yews? There's still 10 people per tree and they aren't ruined.

When you can't beat them, report them I guess.

I only auto like 5 of my 20 at level 3 with default because they are mining/woodcutting but don't try to act all superior. A botting community reporting their own users, rofl.

Seems like color bots are feeling a little left out so they want to get everyone else banned. If they're ruining everything and so easy to find, then let Fagex do it.
