I'm back.

And I'm working on a new script.
This time, it won't fail (like kbRunespan and PFF).

All details are remaining secret until initial release.
The progress bar is in my signature.

I've taken steps to ensure that scripting is the only thing I will be working on for the next few months, namely:
-Closed my service on powerbot.org (I had more that one reason)
-Intentionally gotten myself suspended from powerbot.org for 2 days.
-Deleted my RSPS. (which failed anyway and never actually went public)
-Terminated my 000webhost.com account (so I don't waste time trying to make a website)
-Uninstalled EpicBot and RareBot, deleted RSBot, TriBot, and DynaMac from my computer. Simba is now the only macroing program I have left.

I believe these steps will help me to stay more focused on scripting, and not go on long, drawn-out tangents, venturing deep into different subjects but never actually accomplishing anything (as I used to do).

Feel free to PM me about anything.

Thanks for reading, and remember to NEVER give me positive rep.

Wow! Good luck man! :o Seems like youre going to be devoted to SRL for awhile. Excited to see your script when released! :p (If released to non-SRL members :x….) Anyways nice to have you back

Thanks.
I plan to stay devoted as long as humanly possible.

The script will be publicly released. If it gets moved to SRL Members, I will request that it be re-released publicly.

Uh how would it get moved to members if you didn't request it? We are not pbot…
Anyway a word of advice: read up more advanced tutorials (esp. TPA/advanced walking methods) before you begin. When i look at my older scripts that i made many months ago, i find it like a complete trash and i'd have to remake them completely with more advanced/reliable methods if i were to use them again.

Don't scripts get moved to Members if they're very advanced and overused (like that Pest Control script a while back)?

CBF to do any of that now. I'll get into all of that once initial release is completed. I just want to get all of my ideas down onto a .simba file. Then I'll worry about optimizing them.

EDIT: Actually, I think I can make this script work without any colorfinding or walking procedures. They would certainly make it better, but it would be interesting challenge to do away with them ;)

I think it also really adds motivation for people to learn how to script to evenutally one day gain the status of SRL Member

I don't want membership status. I dislike elitists.
Whether they mean to or not, SRL members come across as elitists (or at least the elite to normal users).

Uhm..what methods are you going to use if you are not utilizing colors? All i can think of is static clicks…(or OpenGL if you are really advanced)

It's completely up to the scripter. I believe the previous scripts get moved because the scripter requested it. Scripters here have 100% say about what happens to their scripts. (unless they contain malicious code of course)

Also you shouldn't apply for members just because you want those scripts…
I have never applied to members because i'm not even in need of them (and neither should you when you qualify for member)

MMToMS is the only thing I would (in theory) need.
Never used it before though. Does it rely on color?

Probably not, it's mainly a lot of math.
But to get the point on MM in the first place you will have to use color? Almost all techniques are in one way or another dependent on color. (which is why we are called color 'bots') What methods you are mainly going to use? I suppose a general idea won't leak too much on what you are going to do? ;)

That shouldn't be the motivation. It should be that you can make all the members only scripts urself!

Seems I wasn't completely understanding my own words. (sorry, I'm tired and sugar-high, not a good combo).

I'm only intending to use findobj right now (because it's the only one I know how to use.)

lol you get me high when you say you won't use color at all. Even DTMs and Bitmaps and based on the concept of colors. TPA and cts 2 can provide way much better accuracy and flexibility than FindObj though, like ignoring objects with too little pixels of the color.

What's the next step up from FindObj? I'd like to learn that.

FindObjEx. Allows you to specify the search region so that it won't try to find ur inv items when you are finding a mainscreen obj. Also the text/color will be an array allowing u to input more options and hence higher chances of finding it.

FindObjTPA uses TPA finding but you won't have to create the function urself, but it still require you to understand the basic concepts of TPA to accurately input the desired parameters.

FindObjEx = FindObjCustom + search regions?

I've no idea what TPA's are :redface:

Yeah. If you look at the code:
Result := FindObjEx(cx, cy, Text, Color, Tol, 50, MSX1, MSY1, MSX2, MSY2);
basically all functions like FindObj,FindObjCustom use the same FindObjEx function, except that it specify some parameters for you, so using FindObjEx will allow greater customization. Also to correct what i said, FindObj already specify ur search region to mainscreen, so you cant use it to find an inv item etc.

Then it won't even be considered to move it anywhere.. you have full control over your scripts and where they are placed.

Also if you need any testing before release let me know the requirements I might have an account or a few that can test it out for bugs etc, if you need.

Interesting.

Can FindBlackChatMessage take arrays?

You can use IsChatBoxTextAnyLine if you want to search for the occurrence of the string in any line, or ChatBoxTextArray if you want to get all the texts. Even if they don't exist, you can make them with the basic functions using a simple for loop.

If you meant for it to search for an array of strings, you can make something like
function FindTSAChatBox: Boolean;
var
TSA: TStringArrayl
begin
TSA:=['string1','string2','string3'];
for i:= 0 to High(TSA) do
if IsChatBoxTextAnyLine(TSA[i],clMessage) then
begin
result:=true;
Break;
end;
end;

There are no requirements. And thanks, I'll probably take you up on that.
