If you guys don't already know, powerbot has recently been in a frenzy over the fact that their admin Andrew has been removing free scripts that competed with premium ones.

Is this the last nail in their coffin? Let's find out;p

I love simba, learning how to script it and everything, but powerbot did have some scripts simba doesn't.

But oh well, not anymore :f:

Seems like it always boils down just to whom can make the money off it, whatever it is. I dunno why people would be surprised that staff over at Powerbot would remove the free-version competition, it means less profit for them, yes? It's obvious that's the kind of people running the show, profit above all.

^ exactly u have to keep in mind for them its not for the fun of learning and writing scripts in an awesome enviroment to improve a game experiance, its what pays thier bills. And thats how thier gunna run thier system, to pay thier bills not for user enjoyment.

Oh wow, I knew there was discontent but this is the final nail in the coffin..

Coma was suppose to release a Dung script that rivaled Idung on the 1st of September.. bugger

Yes I hate them, I hope to see more developers come to simba so we can get lots of plugins for different stuff like brandons opengl plugin, maybe a directX one.. a injection one etc

Their actions are completely expected in the view of a private firm whose sole aim is to maximize profit. (unlike SRL, a non-profit organization that aims to educate its users)

Monopoly power often leads to fall in consumer welfare, as demand for its service will be price inelastic, and as such a rise in price will only result in a less than proportionate fall in quantity demanded.

It could be a good news for SRL though, hopefully there will be talented developers that aren't just after $ coming to SRL. And less competition from injection bots :D

This goes for most people lol, not just you. Too many people say "Simba for life!", when half of them don't even no what MSI or SRL or SPS stand for :P

I think you'll find Epicbot will see an increase in leechers moving there, although they'll moan about the no paypal for scripts..

7 rsbots use 23% of my vps' cpu and 2 epicbots using 17% -.-

Ahhhh, I haven't used a simba script in a while, now a days I mostly Legit it, sometime PB it though.

:f: powerbot is WORSE than jagex when it comes to money.

The source for rsbotv4 was released on multiple sites, there are other bots emerging, powerbot may be digging their own grave.

I have a love/hate relationship with this community.

There are literally like 30 people (that I've seen) that are active on a regular basis (And nearly everyone in this thread is one of them).

To give an example, go look at Help.
The most active members there (that I've seen) are p1ng, Le Jingle, Ucantseemebot, putajohnny and like 10 others. It's horrible.

After the Bot Nuke, all the leechers from RSBot/RSBuddy/EpicBot flocked here.

Of course they've gone back, but if RSBot goes down we're going to see an massive influx of leechers.

ugh i remember that influx from bot nuke #1 :/ but a few of those leechers became great scripters here :) so even though there will be massive influxes of the same "i cant get simba to work and i dont like the search button" threads, maybe some more potential scripters will start their scripting journey here.

exactly! and even though leechers overall can get annoying because many of them are lazy, there are still people that want to learn. this is a great thing and can benefit the community. so if powerbot goes down, even though the leechers can get annoying, it has the potential of being a benefit to the community.

I wish i could play legit again.. but i just find it so hard to just concentrate and play the game anymore.. Botting is the only reason i still play im afraid :/

Same here :3. Well Rarebot is a bot that seems to be from 2.0 rsbot? Maybe we could see bots like that develop from the 4.0 source? :D

Hey worst comes to worst, we get some new members; sure the majority will be leeches, but there is always that one gem in the rubble :)
I came from the bot nuke, but I am not a gem :/ maybe circular rubble :D

Tbh public scripts section should be removed
