When I joined SRL, it was for runescape bots. I loved runescape back then, I loved watching my cash stack rise, I loved watching my xp rise. During my time at SRL, I decided to take up scripting aswell. I made plenty of scripts for the community to work on my scripting skills. The feeling of watching your first script run is amazing, I cant even explain it. I loved writing scripts back then, I loved scripting, knowing that every word I type contributes to more $$$ in my RS bank.
Now, however, Im starting to lose interest in Runescape, and following that, I'm starting to lose interest in scripting. I dont get that amazing feeling of watching my cash stack rise anymore, I dont get that amazing feeling of watching my script run, i've seen it all before. I want to keep learning pascalscript, and the other languages that follow it, but I've lost my inspiration for scripting…
My question for you, SRL, is where do I go from here? I loved scripting back then, because I loved Runescape, but I dont anymore. I log into runescape ~once a week. I dont bot anymore, but I want to continue learning. I want to keep contributing to SRL. What do I do now? Where do I find new inspiration? I need help, or I fear my time at SRL may be coming to a close…

Make a fresh account on Runescape and build scripts for it. :p On a more serious note, do you have another online game that you play? How about trying to write some scripts for it?
Maybe just play Runescape manually for a while, do some things in-game that have to be done manually. I think after enough time you're going to get some more ideas on how to make a script for whatever it is you're doing, and that'll push you to make more complicated scripts.

I have been at SRL for over 6 years now and lost interest in runescape LOOOOONG ago. I log into my account maybe once or twice a year. This is a great community and there is much more to it then just runescape autoing. To that end we have been trying recently to shift our focus from primarily runescape cheating to more of an educational community that uses runescape cheating as a means of learning. Many members here know many different languages and have a vast amount of knowledge you can use for learning more languages and little projects here and there :)
I know you haven't been at SRL too long but stick around :) Who knows maybe you'll get back into runescape, I know i have yoyo'd back and forth many times over the years.
If for nothing else, stick around for good company :)

I enjoy SRL for the people I meet: first. Then comes my affinity for scripting and learning. Followed up by rs, games, etc. If you don't mind floating away from the RS scene, then stop playing; know that you can still interact with this community on a learning basis too, without RS.
I've found working on scripts/learning/games/etc. - I need them in small chunks intermittently throughout the day. This doesn't mean I don't nolife [insert item/game/etc. here] from time to time, but in a sense, compartmentalizing daily activities lets me push through dull spots.
:) That's just my point of view
I lost interest in RuneScape a while ago as well, but I still enjoy the challenge of writing a good script. I still feel good when I release a script that people use and I get feedback on it and continue learning. I don't remember the last time I "legit" did anything on runescape. My account logs in when making transactions or when testing a bit of code I have just written and that's about it.
The game is meaningless to me - It's the learning new things that keeps me going.

You need to do something challenging.
Try writing a difficult script. Try doing some boss fights in runescape.
Try new things, your interest will rise when you are challenged.

Just lurk the forums and keep botting lol. Why not see is skilling helps interest rather then gp?

Yeah as Pulse said above me, I think you need to motivate your real life a bit, get a hobby going like gym, do a few quests like Flight said, like really get back into enjoying the game and hopefully you'll feel the love again :)

I'm not sure if it would motivate you, but maybe you could take some script requests for more difficult tasks, such as a minigame.
As for getting back into Runescape, don't try to make yourself like it again, you'll probably feel like you want to get back into it after a break.
In the meantime, just try to keep learning and helping others on these forums.

I think you guys are right, I need to find an URL hobby, and take a break from the game. ATM, I play soccer around 1-2 hours a day, if that counts as a hobby. I'll try to start on some larger scripting projects, and maybe even sell my RS gold for $ for inspiration! Thanks again guys!

Pick up another language and program some other stuff if you really like programming. Then you can get back into RS if you want.
I like football/soccer (same thing) so yeah that counts. Maybe try writing a very difficult script?
I know how you feel I come and go myself played runescape since nearly the beginning log on now and then mostly just to chat to old friends so I would recommend you try making some rs friends or try finding a good clan which host regular group events which is a lot more fun than solo'ing.
Scripting wise there is OGL by Brandon aka ggzz have you tried this yet? Its on my todo list when I find time myself.
Don't feel like your the only one a lot of people as mentioned come and go and feel the same as you do.
Hope to see you around Cru1z1n…
