It is our first amendment right to film police in public.

nothin you can really do about ir, its happend to me its happened to people i know but recording them doing it isnt going to do shit. notice how 99.9% of cops who beat somebody or do something illegal (and most of the time they are caught on tape doing so) gets paid leave, then returns to a desk job and is back out doing it again in a few months thats becuase when they do it its not considered abuse, or assult its considered to be "keeping the peace" oh well thats why if little piglet stops me im baligeriant because wtf are thy going to do about it

pulse0, while i can understand your pessimistic outlook on this issue because of the power police have and the lack of power we have. However, DO NOT GIVE UP. There are thousands of cases that would have been in the victims favor had someone been able to video tape what happened. I worked(doing filing) at a pretty big firm here in central PA. I've seen numerous police brutality cases. The cases that are caught on tape always stand a VERY good chance of winning in the victim's favor.

A video tape of what happened is an un-biased 100% believable witness. Sadly a tape of what happened isn't enough, you need the money for a good lawyer or the publicity to retain one. While video taping police won't prevent them from abusing us, however, it will hold them accountable afterwards.

Police could stop arresting drunk drivers because they'll never stop all drunk driving. That would be a horrible idea, but that is EXACTLY what your idea sounds like when you say "recording them isn't going to do shit".
Obviously you know that statement is wrong. Search for police brutality. They're all video's of the police, and at the end they show who's favor the judge ruled in.

I'm just asking you to help hold our "law" enforcement accountable!

Some people… Glad the police here in my town doesn't do anything but saving kittens from trees and other stuff (low criminality rate)

I'm not trying to say that this does not happen and is justified, but I truly feel this is not the majority of police officers. The behavior in the video you linked is definitely unacceptable though.

and it's WAY more common then you think man. I've had tons of friends arrested for filming police in public, their cameras broken and not returned.

This is a rich mans world, otherwise the constitution will not protect you…

… I already talked to my lawyer(he's representing me for my DUI/theft/etc), he all but laughed…
I'm pretty sure they'll drop the charge(DC) at the hearing but if not I'm taking that shit to trial…

they're all separate charges… so they'll all have different court dates…
