Illegal to make emails?

I was just wondering, is it illegal to make mass fake hotmail accounts with fake names, locations, zip codes ect?
I mean, I'm not talking hundreds, just maybe at the very most around 50.
No specific people, just randomly generated names… Is that legit, or could you get in trouble for it?

Well, I didn't mean it like that.
But I mean, if I was to make +25 emails with their own (randomly generated) phone numbers, names, passwords, D.O.B's and zip codes, then sold them as virgin emails, would that somehow be illegal?
I just want to make sure before I do anything.

virgin emails?? There are ppl who buy emails?

You can create 9001 emails with any sort of fake info you want, at the very most it may be against microsoft's t&c (never heard of microsoft banning any1 though) but it cant possibly be against the law. (Unless you use the emails for malicious intent)

I was thinking people would use them for RuneScape so if they get banned, they've got a back up instantly.
I was just gonna make 10, and if they sold for RSGP, I'd make more.
So if I was to make the emails, then someone else got caught doing stupid or illegal shit with it, would I get in trouble, or the person doing the fuckery?

But there's a limit of how many account you can make in a certain period of time from the same IP. Used to bot 60 accounts before bot nuke last year, and my accounts gets banned a lot lol.

Back in the day you could actually use javascript injection to create e-mails from like any domain on hotmail's servers. You couldn't actually get into the e-mail with them, but you could use them for msn messenger and stuff. I don't know if this got patched when they switched systems to their live e-mail or whatever it is now.

That's insane, there must have been SO much fraud going on back then.

No you dont get into any kind of trouble. Untill you use them for illegal intentions. I have like all my fake emails with the names of Jagex Mods.

Oh man, I literally spat juice all over my mouse and monitor when you said that.
That's a brilliant idea.
But again, if I made the account, sold them, and that person/s used them for activity… Would it be me or them who got in trouble?

Well that's a really good question. I'm not sure but isn't selling email kind of like copyright since you are making money out of something that you don't own. It's like selling videos from youtube users. Just remember that when you sign up to something, they keep your I.P. just in case. I dont know what to say about you getting in trouble after you sold it. Maybe you won't since you can simply say: that you got hacked and left it alone.

"I'm not sure but isn't selling email kind of like copyright since you are making money out of something that you don't own." Oh man, that's 100% correct. I completely forgot to realize that. Thanks for reminding me.
Yeah, I know they'd have my IP, but I'd assume that if a different IP was using it at the time of what ever they were doing, that THEY'D be in trouble.
But then again, it's like saying "I only supplied the drugs, HE bought them."

I appreciate this. It was a bad idea. Thank you.

Illegal? Definitely not since there is no single law ruling over the internet. It might be against the terms of service probably. Selling RS items and gold is much closer to illegal than this.

Also, it would be much easier if you created a free account at a hosting place that allows unlimited email accounts. If the hosting space use cPanel you can mass import email addresses, so you can literally create 1000s of email accounts in a matter of seconds.

I didn't think this through well enough.
Maybe I should actually do a bit of research like I should have done in the first place.

I appreciate all of this, guys.

I was just gonna make a bunch of legit hotmails, with illegitimate info. No stolen information or ID theft or anything of that nature.
Oh well, onto my next idea…
Also, have you gotten the chance to check your private messages today…?
