I don't think they quite know what to do with the problem.. At any given time there are over 65k bots online… This is obvious just after a system update and there is only about 40k people online then.
I think they're gradually starting to crack down hard

All you need is a few levels that are miscellaneous and some decent combat stats and you are pretty much invincible so long as you bot resposibly *cough* me

I think it is well established at this point that Jagex is clueless when it comes to stopping goldfarmers.
Seeing as how botting clients go down after every system update (presumably from ids changing), couldn't they just implement something that changes the ids of items randomly? I'm not a programmer so I don't really have any great ideas.
Can someone aware me on how Jagex is detecting botting these days?
Not been around these parts in a long time.

They look in the highscores for account with such names as asdfasdfdss with 150m+ xp in a skill. Or else a SUPER obvious botting clan. Those are the only bots they have said they have banned.

The hunter farmers are quite obvious though, I don't think there are many legits that can sit around with that many bots around them and only train that skill. =/
