I need a page built that is interactive, but I don't know what kind of help I am looking for. It's a simpler cousin to Dells customize your new computer page. As far as interactive pages go, it should be one of the simplest, though I assume too much for html alone to handle. Probably php or javascript, but definitely not flash (mobile support, or at least not looking terrible, is pretty important). But I don't know much about web dev, so here is what it needs:
Reading data from a config ini/xml/etc file (db shouldn't be needed) *
A vertical scrolling frame within the page, containing a fixed number of horizontal scrolling frames, one for each type of computer part
Which in turn contain a bunch of computer parts, each with a picture, text, and price, as defined by the config file, plus a radio button (even better if checkboxes can be used sometimes, for example in the case of HDs).
Below the vertical frame below is a Total, which changes on the fly based on which radio buttons are selected
Next to the total is a Done button, which generates a page with a model number created from the selected parts
*this is preferred, however defining these variables at the top of the file like rs scripts is ok too
I'll throw together a mock up in inkscapeSee mock up below, but unless I'm forgetting something that should cover it. So what kind of coder am I looking for?
