Read a thread on how many bots can your computer handle/etc.; not the point of this thread, but an idea of how I came to think of this NOTA thread, "Cores 'n stuff."

I'm curious, what are huge cores/thread used for?

I read that computers with giant numbers of cores, such as 336 in Ambric (wiki source) machines can be used for medical equipment such as x-rays (I found a conflict source, another wiki, that said 13k cores?…). I am curious what other applications such large/unheard of computers use that / that+more amount of cores. Specifics/examples also help ^.^

Cheers,

Another application for them is finding ridiculously large prime numbers that have yet to be found, the military apparently uses them for encryption.
