What happened...?

I've noticed that the scripts part of the forums have had a ton less people browsing. Two weeks ago before I went on my trip there were like 75 people browsing that section whereas now there are 15 people… Did anything happen while I was gone?

NavBar update meant that big changes needed to be made to simba/SRL. This lead to alot of confusion and I would assume lots of leechers lost hope with us. Also, alot of scripts were broken due to these and changes to do with SMART being updated around the same time so most scripts if not all will need some alteration at present.

Like p1ng said, it is most likely the recent downtime and the fact that several scripts are not updated for the latest simba/smart.

I honestly don't have an issue with the lowered view number. In a free, open source, community like ours, the only thing that a leecher provides is the worst-case-scenario for a tester. But then they don't even post the error, if they post anything is all it just looks like "Script broken. Bad bot. Fix or I leave."
The people we need are the ones that either contribute through scripting or through useful posting (actual bug reports, proggies, etc.). They are generally the ones that stick around after the downtime.

Our leechers seem to migrate mainly towards PB when they loose interest in making simba work… Have fun guys!

I felt that it was for a reason like that :3 Then I was like wait what if there was a massive hacking or something during my absence o.0

all that reasons are true, also alot of leechers are just migrating towards pb, since their brains cant figure out simba quite well, and we gotta say pb is just download, add and bot, to a leech thats the best it can be

only good thing pb has is kiko and his idung

Yeah there has been a massive increase in PB users.. Pretty simple for leechers to use and a bit more rewarding with scripts like Frost Drags.

We really should just implement anti-leech in all the scripts here and either force people to learn or let them go..

At this rate the community is going to slowly die out… :( I mean, yeah, leechers don't do anything, but at least they combine to make our community larger as a whole and gain popularity, which can actually get us more contributors and coders….. At this rate, no new people are going to join, only going to leave… :(

This place won't die out, even if Runescape does. SRL survived the prime of injection bots, it can survive anything.

I think it's nice that leechers went to PB, that way we won't have to bother with people who ask before searching, and they won't blame us for the hackings. Kind of like natural selection.

This forum could renounce 3/4 of all registered users, imo. I think even if botting is the core of this community, it could survive without runescape.

Although I've only been a member since November of last year, from what I've seen of SRL in the past, it won't die out anytime soon. I'd love to see a number of total accounts created before October 25th, 2011 and then the updated number now. I'm pretty sure it's a HUGE number, because people like me came here after the bot nuke on that day (but now we know Simba and SRL> all ;)). But yeah, from what I've seen of old members and stuff like that before this last year, SRL is a very strong community even if it does have a small number of users. I like it more that way honestly, and like someone else said, takes away the "Samba nawt werking" threads/posts.

Far from it, lol.. A lot of people enjoy when the leechers all leave, this place will never die out unless runescape stops being hosted.. it's been around before other bots and will be around long after other bots

I think it's quite a coincidence that many of us are busy elsewhere and inactive at the same time.

Anyhow, we're not fading, don't forget we've been around longer than anyone else, just more hidden at times.
