My suggestion: Only allow 1 script per application
Reasons:
- People post multiple low quality scripts rather than a single high quality one. Usually if they would just pick the one with highest quality they would have better changes to get in I think.
- Takes less time to read through the application.
What's your opinion?
I agree.
There's always the squeleton of the script that doesn't change much.
So say there is 2 script, and each has only 200 lines of code, half of those lines are just stuff for the mainloop, initialisation etc. Seeing that you can initialise the server to 18 doesn't impress me.
Now say there is only one script of 400 lines, maybe 300 of those line are actual line of codes.

I disagree.
What if one script doesn't completely demonstrate the applicant's coding abilities?

That's a good point. Someone might have one script use DTMs and radialwalking and another using TPA stuff etc. But even then couldn't they improve their better script to include more methods?

To be honest I just scroll through them till I find something unique. My eyes filter out all those mainloops and antiban functions anyway. Maybe we should ask them to link to their script, and post a few(3 or 4) pieces of code demonstrating their abilities. Like their obj find functions, or their intelligent breaking system.

When I see an application that has 3+ scripts, I tend to not even bother reading and voting at all on it.

Woah… not everyones script will fill the SRL requirements. Not all scripts use TPA's Not all scripts use different types of walking…
I don't see a benefit of limiting the scripts other than to allow the voters to be more lazy

I disagree with this, I like when people have multiple scripts.
What I like seeing the most is someone being proud of their scripts that has received some great reviews by other members of srl, but that script not including something we want to see (So they add another script, with that function we wanted to see).
To me it shows they take pride in their work rather than just showing what needs to be done.

It certainly would help the application to be read easier.
I think that it should be encouraged to only post one script that demonstrates scripting ability, but this may not always work if say the applicant was using some advanced methods of item and object finding in a fairly static script while using a variety of walking methods in another.
It is sometimes difficult to show all a person knows in just one script, but it would be nice ;)

#Disagree.
For example one script would be a bank standing script and the other could be a fighting script.

Disagree. I agree that usually it would be in their best interest to just post their best script, but like said above, sometimes people can show all their skills better with more than one script.

Genuinely seems like a lot of members are too lazy to vote properly.. if your to lazy, just don't vote? No need to penalise someone for having lots of scripts

The only thing I care about that involves applications and scripts is that the application contains the script. I vote no for links to a script as well (the instructions are clear in my opinion)

I totally disagree. In my application for example, my first script's main difference from the second one was that it had a unique mainloop where it checked for the location and inventory situation to choose what to do, and used DTMs to walk. I also used SRL stats there. In the second one, there was extensive use of the SRL include for many skills, ie gathering weapon data for combat, and it had lots of interesting logic and the use of records. I got to show my use of SPS there. While the first script was much like a standard miner, the second one was a unique idea, but the first one was nearly flawless while the second got stuck, sometimes due to things that I couldn't control. Having two scripts to submit definitely increased my chances there, because I got to demonstrate my full potential. I do agree that sometimes people submit multiple low quality scripts, but it at least adds some variety. I would never want to limit someone like that.
If we are going to change the application requirements, we could ask for a certain number of lines of code.(without declareplayers and such, starting from the first user-written procedure)

I think having more than one script is fine, as long as each one is a fully functional script and each one has different ways of doing things, or advanced methods.

When I made my script I just made one script and just had in mind to use as much of SRL that I could, Bitmaps, DTM's, TPA's and as much as I could of the include! It would be much easier and less tiresome to read only one script instead of 1-3 scripts. It could prevent people not voting at all cuz its too much of an effort or just voting no for the sake of voting.
