Just because you haven't seen it, that doesn't mean it wasn't there. I took advantage of the 6 months for the price of four last year.

Yeah, just their way of guaranteeing subscription for the extra months - plus they figure with people being subscribed they might be inclined to buy spins or the RS Coins for that shop.

I hate the advertisements that pop up whenever I log in, coupled with the annoying Runescape music. Anyone has any idea how to switch off that music?

I think it's for everyone, and only applicable to new subscriptions using credit card. If you are already on the $5 old price, a year would only cost $30 now.
