I been trying to get my FPS higher; right now I have 10mb internet, running on a brandnew 8gig tower; why do I have 8-10 fps? My ping is anywhere from 110-80 doesnt matter what ping server I go into its always showing 8fps… I can raise or lower my fps bar and doesnt matter my FPS always the same…

Can someone help me out and tell me how I can raise my internet; I'm running safe mode on RS, I have fast internet, along with a fast computer what in the world is going on?!

this is the highest I can get my FPS…HELP please

Yikes, those stats look famaliar…
OT: FPS can also depend on your graphics card too.

eska

2012-08-02 21:34:11

It can't depend on your graphics card because he said he is running using safe mode.
Smart also use safe mode, which only use the CPU. Safe mode is the slowest of them all. Use Opengl or DirectX if you aren't using smart.
The internet speed and ping aren't related to fps in any way.
While the memory can't be a negative thing, it is the CPU that is very important for runescape. For a java game that runs in a browser… runescape is pretty CPU intensive if you ask me.

Btw nice stats holy sh*t, I got the same except dung.

Hmmm very peculiar case. Start it up, go to task manager, put java on highest priority.
If that doesn't work, update java?

Actually, we cant update java, since smart doesent run on java 7 unless you compile smart yourself. I believe 6U32 is the highest, thats what I've always used.

downgrade to 6U32, SMART runs better with it. how much memory is java taking up? can you show us your processes tab?

Do you have a link to java?

Footy

2012-08-02 22:08:13

63? Just post a pic in the mOrning. I'll link you to java in a second
Assuming you are 32bit, this is what you need. FIRST, however, delete all your other java versions via programs and features.JAVA 6U32 download link

I'll take a pic shorty but it's running 2 clients though as if that matters….

What should it be at?

Footy

Mine is never more then 120,000kb, if something is wrong with your java, smart, or script though, it can get freakishly high.

Delete all the java's, then download the new java. Is that powerboat or simba using 400k RAM

Brandon

2012-08-02 22:52:38

That's pb using 400k ram :o. His simba is using 41k as far as I can see. He doesn't seem to have smart running.

Here's my Windows setup.. J7 for testing and developing stuffs and J6 for smart:

Jos3ph

I deleted them, will install the java you told me to do

Footy

@brandon- I mentioned he could compile smart to use java 7, but AFAIK, SMART doesn't run properly on java 7

Jos3ph

Brandon, for Simba purposes do you think running the java footy suggested would fix my Fps issue?

Footy

2012-08-02 23:08:03

Sorry Brandon, didnt read the text above, and you need to show me how to use java 7 for something, and 6 for another! Anyways, it doesn't hurt to try, it should definitely improve it. Just try it out.

You gave the direct dl link which bypass the agree to terms page.

Thank you guys; So I downloaded the 32bit Java, not sure if 32bit or 64bit would make a bigger difference or not but at any rate I'm at 32fps viewing from TV.

http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?p=848708

I used his tut and I was able to uninstall my java and reinstall the new java but it was the 32bit model, whats the difference between 32 and 64?

Justin

2012-08-03 11:01:44

The main difference with 32 and 64 bit is the way it handles memory (ram)

I wouldn't since Simba\SMART use 32bit

Kyle Undefined

Simba uses 32bit to run, so you need the same bit of Java. There is a 64bit Simba, but it's unstable at the moment.

Ok so I'll stay with 32bit; though my system runs off 64bit.

At any rate how do I run powerbot, since powerbot uses java 7…. I already saw what happenes when I run Java 7 and Simba/smart it really bogs down.

I run powerbot in a virtual machine only, for security. Grats guide on VMs is really worth checking out.

I'm not really sure how to switch between two different versions of Java in Windows.

Hmmm still havent been able to get 30-40 fps but I am viewing my computer from team viewer…

When I get home today I am going to look into what my upload and download speeds are; I'll look at what my simba is running, what model java I have & what is going on. I'll post my specs of my computer because I cant run the script I want to run because of this lag…

Kyle Undefined

2012-08-03 17:01:29

Well when you TV into a computer, you'll get horrible FPS. Especially on RS, since TV takes a lot of process when running.

I found a wolrd, world 9 that had like 38 ping and I'm at like 24-30fps with TV up and running; I been using a theiving script that hates lag nothing else is running on my computer. So I hope when I get home I'll be ok, and my FPS is more like 35-40…

Jos3ph

last checked my ping was 14fps…. Again I dont understand what my issue is;

Your script must have a memory leak. Theres no other reason for it to be using 1,400,000k of RAM

Is it possible it's something wrong with my Simba settings or something I didn't do properly?

Jos3ph

2012-08-05 08:55:14

Still the same FPS I logged same world; lowest ping world, I'm using Java Java 6 (6.0.330)

I have zero lag at all; what is the issue? Is it because I am in safe mode? What else should I run simba in?

I just deleted my RS cache thinking maybe that might help. Still not doing any difference. I'm very confused as to what my issue is. How do I resolve the issue?

I have to many variables – Java? Runescape settings? Simba settings, not being updated properly or something I may have overlooked? Internet?

However my internet speeds show to be pretty decent; so I can rule that out.

Java I was told to download by footy works for him but not for me, so I doubt its Java 6 32bit.

Lastly it may or may not be my RS settings or Simba settings I dont know enough about either of the two to determine if it is or not.

Advice is much needed.

P1ng

2012-08-05 09:23:07

while it is displaying your FPS you can try moving the slider on the right-hand side of SMART up and you should get a higher FPS rate.

EDIT: Just saw you are already at the highest.
All I can recommend is use lowest settings on all aspects of RS, maybe update your java to JDK6u32 and try to keep background applications to a minimum.

runescape uses that much memory. not any botting program, lol..

@OP is your graphics card getting used? you need to enable acceleration with directX or openGL, your CPU is getting capped out so unless that changes and something else takes the load off, your lag won't get better.

What temperatures is your CPU running at? When it reaches high temps they will extremely decrease in performance.

There's a HUGE leak in that script, a leak that might be looped every second unless it's been on a week straight or something, that is an insane amount of memory.

Jos3ph

2012-08-05 11:16:26

How do I test how hot it's getting? Also how do I do Do direct x?

I think this might be my issue!

Go to visual settings or something like that, but you can't bot in directx, not yet.

Justin

Get the non pro version, it should say your cpu temp

it looks like you're running integrated graphics too? A cheap video card would improve your performance

Jos3ph

2012-08-05 21:42:54

I've been gone all day so I'm going to fix this right now and take a look at my CPU temp; computer has been shut off all day so lets see what the temp is shortly after running it; will edit post shortly.

Temp isnt high, I relocated the tower to an area that has plenty of airflow.

I still have 16-15fps yet I have quick download and upload; whats the deal with this…I'm running my glass script and its running at 26fps not 40 or better.

How can it be my GFX card if I am running off safe mode; I cant seem to run any other method other then safe mode, I click other methods but safe is the only option that stays working…

I want to resolve this lag issue I shouldnt have any lag, I have a desinated computer for this bot & also upgraded internet I expect that it should work so I wont give up until I resolve my issue.

Any advice will be tested and I'll post my results please post how to do what you offer me; I've already tested 2 types of java which didnt work, relocated machine (left computer off for 10+ hours) I've done everything; what can I do next?

just wanted to let everyone know my issue with low FPS rate was because I had safe mode set to low CPU usage, when I set my CPU ussage to max it went to 40-50 fps…

Wow didnt think I'd ever fix the issue…
