Looks decent, maybe a bit heavy.

Also, look at the asus counterparts, those are mostly cheaper for the same rig.

Delete Norton asap.

Make sure the screen is non-glare.

It will have Kaspersky for 1 year, then ESET Smart Security all the way.
HP always had good screen for laptops, not one of those LED-backlighted as Lenovo has

Meh, you should try G-data antivirus, it's the best.

Anyways, Glare screen (i call them mirror screens) are shit.
Make sure you don't have one.

Yea I have essentially the same spec and I have crashed my computer by using ALL of the Ram, if you can get an upgrade to 16GB I might have to upgrade mine soon.

Pretty nice laptop. How much is it?
Mine is half years old, Asus, i7 2630QM 2,0-2,6ghz, 4gb, 500gb, nvidia 540m 2gb, and it was 2000$.
EDIT: 1000$.

Mine is essenially the same, but I paid $700 less and got more?

Dell i7 2670QM 2.2(3.1) 8GB Ram, 500GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM), Nvidia 550M (3GB), With Blue Ray and Full HD 17.1 In Screen. I bought mine in January so I am confused as to why yours was more.

I know I'm bitching, but the I7 2630QM does 2.0 - 2.9 Ghz

Anyways, i have the asus x5qs , 2630 QM, 6gb ram, 750gb 7200rpm, gt555m with the most cuda's,
and most important AN ANTI GLARE SCREEN!!! (Screw mirror screens.)

Bought it for €850 (which is considered quite cheap here in belgium.)

Similar to mine, recently bought one for school next month.
Asus N56VZ
Most important is i7 3610QM @ 2.3-3.3 Ghz, GT 650m, 8 gb 1600 mhz RAM and some other good stuff. Because I hate delays I also put a 256 GB in it, paid 929€ for the laptop and 186€ for the SSD which makes it quite an expensive laptop at €1115. But it was definately worth it considering I'll use it the next 4 years. After that I'll probably buy a new one lol.

Nice rig!
Yeah, next one I'll buy will be in some 2 years.
I like to swap main pc's a lot and make my own bot network. :P
Anyways, i expect the battery to become shitty in about 1.5 years.

I would surely put an SSD in your laptop. It just makes everyday use alot nicer and is worth the extra money.

I'm a fan of External Disks, 1TB of storage space right on the plug of a USB cable and external disks are cheaper nowadays :)

I think he was just suggesting a SSD for booting + running programs rather than actual storage.
