Opinions, thoughts, comments on Guild Wars 2?

Release date is 28th of August, with pre-purchases getting access on the 25th.

Personally I am keen for its release, I played one of the beta weekends and it was… Epic.
Most looking forward to the pvp, the large battlegrounds and the WvWvW pvp looks awesome.

If you are planning on playing, what class do you plan to be? I'm thinking either necromancer or thief atm.

im not sure if i want to play gw2 or try MoP in wow i mean i haven't seriously played since cata was released

Waiting, I want to see WoW: MOP vs GW2 and pick, so far there's nothing that makes one destroy the other as far as playing wise.. gw2 is way less casual friendly as far as actually playing the game (which is good, I hate bads) with its randomized, in game pvp (you can be in a town doing a quest and all the sudden your town is under attack and you have to defend it or it gets taken over) type of thing..
which is totally my bag, but other than that I'm not leaning either way, in fact I'm leaning toward not playing either.

Yeah, it'll be interesting how they handle the whole randomized town invasions. From what I saw on the beta they did a hell of a lot better job on it then rift did. Rift's invasion to player ratio was insane on launch, from level 1-19 their was sht all then after that every quest hub you went to was under attack from like 3 different, simultaneous invasions.
Honestly I'm sick of WoW, it just not longer interests me. I never really got into pve content, tried it at the start of both WotLK and Cata but it bores me to death. Made 2200 in rbgs and 3v3 arena, in the end I was just spending way to much time running around the city on my sandstone drake ;o

I think between MoP and GW2, GW2 has the greater potential to be amazing but it also has the greater potential to fall flat on its face like say Aion.
Fingers crossed for a smooth launch and good game… Don't let me down ArenaNet.

I never even looked at rift..warhammer or aion I think it was called, they're ridiculous if they think those sloppy games are going to take over a blizzard game (even with blizzard being complete shit compared to how it used to be.

I've played WoW a few hours a week for the past year or so (like 5 hours a week) and before that I played vanilla & burning crusade a lot, after that.. wotlk was easily the worst expansion and cata was only slightly better.. PVP in WoW has gotten shittier the older the game gets & the more expansions come out, gladiator during the first season I sold my character for 2k because it was so hard to achieve, now the pvp is insanely easy because nobody tries.

and yes WoW seems to be 90% sitting in city after you hit the raid gear cap & pvp gear cap (not hard to do) with raids you're sitting there waiting for that 1 day a week you clear out the raid and you're done

NCsoft lost 100% of my respect when they destroyed exteel, that was easily one of the best games ever made.. and it's something I always think about when I look at guild wars 2 stuff.. It would be nice to have another huge game like WoW to play, however I think gw2 will be like gw1 and just a silly get your horrible achievement system points and do nothing (not that wow is any different)

borderlands 2 is going to pull through though, that game is insanely beast already and they haven't stopped adding stuff to it.

ive always hated casuals and blizz has been making the game into a casual one as of recent times, i mean back in vanilla man stuff was hard.

about wow though what i would love is high elves for alliance i mean they were going to be picked before launch but gnomes got included instead.>:(

already Achieved glad in WOW and afterward it became really boring..
definitely will go for GW2 especially with my rl friends goin to play ( 8 people ) :D

I liked GW1, I want to get GW2 too.

hehe have fun, post some cool stuff I'm interested, have 50+ people I know playin I made them all meet each other to play together ;p if it's good I'll get it and play, I don't play any games at all atm so probably will give in eventually

I last played GW1 for a couple of years after its release. Was a good game. :)
Sadly though, my uni laptop doesn't have the requirements to play GW2, so I doubt I'll be able to play.

Launch was epic… Apart from the 6 hour server crash…

Pretty impressive though, shows blizz sucks since they usually get like 20 hour server crashes on like 50 different servers

I'm going to buy this reallly soon!

Game is amazing and I've already played for like 16 hours lol.

I cant wait to play! I bought pre-order version, I'll get the key today….
