I would love to see a SRL MC Server up and running… I do have a spare VPS floating around somewhere… Maybe I might host one and see how it goes

Offline = it isn't online, connection is closed.
Official = has been verified

Blah cracked game won't even bother his millions gained & that doesn't include all the sales from Beta. So a server opened for our own villavu community doesn't make a difference if the users using are legit or cracked game - its gonna be us in it only.

Setting up a server is very simple, just run the .jar / .exe from the minecraft website, then forward your ports, job done :) getting it so that people that haven't bought it is fairly easily, they need to get a cracked version (it is against forum rules to distribute / post links to this sort of thing), then just set online-mode to false in the server properties

Bukkit is already installed. No plugins are activated as I don't really know what good ones are.

lol then get this first, it is a must for cracked servers. I suppose active players could suggest plugins to get, I haven't played in a good while.

And yeah, there's an SRL text made out of dirt, and I made a tower around it that has torches on top.

I also don't seem to be able to build thing around the spawn area, so we might need admin privileges or something to build there.

^thats true. We could always find the exact dimensions of this "no build" area then build a little chalet thing around it. It's too bad that exists, I found gold under the spawn that I couldn't get.

You should make a road to indicate where you live, would be nice to visit. Or make a public entry to the mine?

The mine can be found right under the spawn, it actually goes quite deep, and I didn't explore the deepest parts.

I would LOVE to see a Tekkit server! But I might use a MC one as well. Agreed that you should just buy the game as it is fairly cheap for hours of enjoyment.

Server is up and running 1.3.1. Maybe in the future I might buy some more VPS's and run some other MC servers for you guys

We just really need one good quality server where we have a bunch of people playing. I think we only have 4-5 active people on the current server, but it lags and glitches like crazy.

yeah, the video settings make a massive difference in playability(?). I got minecraft running on computers 6 years old, running xp just by bringing all the video settings down.

Nah it's just my curddy internet. I always play on low detail settings on MC, but on Tekkit its all set to HD and such.

Anyone know about how many people are on the server in total?

On ther server and play the server are two different things.. So far ive seen 7 different people beside me on. (Not at once)

Erm… Lockette… That's it. Just lock your chests and furnaces, and don't build you house out of wood!

I will find any grieffing and I will rollback your house\damanged goods\stolen items to when it was normal. I will also find the user who done this and they will be blacklisted. I will do this when I get home from work.

E: I have rebooted the VPS to try and fix the lag issue. I have also contacted the VPS company to see if they are able to improve it.

It was pretty fine when I played today, footy was on. I didn't experience any lag. I think having a warp or teleport(to specified person/home) plugin would be nice. I think pm-for-whitelist is the way to go to prevent griefing.
I also got spawned underground before, putting your things in a chest before logging seems to be the only sure way to avoid a loss.

It was fine when me and you were on, but later in the day, it wouldn't even load the world.

Server is pretty dead at the moment, to me anyways, Very hard to connect, and the odd time I do connect, it Lags like no tomorrow. Ill update the OP with the IP anyways.

1) I think we have/had one, don't know why it was removed if there isn't one currently.
2) I think this is kinda obsolete with a whitelist, people can abuse it by making stuff around your place, thus preventing you from expanding. Having an indestructible shelter around spawn would be nice though.
3) No need for this. Unless you feel bad because some people might have obtained tons of diamonds.
4) Definitely, I also suggested this. There should be a limit on the amount of warps each person can create though, it isn't nice to have tons of useless ones.

We did have a whitelist, but it wasnt functioning properly, so it was removed. and I agree we need a shelter near spawn.

The login thing happens to me too, I just put all my stuff in a chest before logging out.
We should get the warp and teleport plugins BTW. You could at least warp yourself to avoid death when the login thing happens.

I like that idea, and also factions we be nice, cuz we are kinda splitting of into groups as it is and it would be nice if we could protect our land

I had op for a while, and did some fun stuff:
This is the new spawn.
These are the signs you see after appearing there.
You can push the button for cake. Useful for those who are starving.
This is my stairway to heaven :p /warp Skybase spawns you on top of it.

This stone road here goes on for about 600 blocks, all the way to the spawn. There are safe drop points along the way. I was gonna put more but my op-power went away.
You hit the water when you drop.
And this is the drop by the spawn. You can see the water hole and the spawn in the picture.
There are a few other warps. village1 spawns you in the middle of an NPC village. srl spawns you around the place some people live.

Lets take this one step at a time. Enslaved thought it would be a good idea to put lava on my room (without my permission). He cleaned it up and repaired my house and replaces most of my items but I am very confused why he would have thought this was a good idea. I consider this admin abuse I wish for his admin title to be revoked. I also would like it if a block protection plugin could be implemented to make sure this does not happened again.

in my defence i admit what i did was inconsiderate =[ as i said didnt realise that there were holes in the roof for which i am terrible sorry for but during this time, i have also done the following: patched up a tnt hole manually( footy and the killer);
found and added warp to endportal, made a public farm including: autoharvest of wheat, pig,cow, sheep and chicken pens. day and night alterations for those who want to change the time( at /warp srl) helped footy with his house/stronghold as well as a few others, as i said i have realised it was a mistake and deeply appologise for any inconvinience caused.

I got kinda bored because there is nothing to work towards. Would be nice to have specialized areas, like pvp/pvm arenas, spleef and such.

Minigames and such would be cool for the minecraft server, and if I get Justins permission, Ill build some.

E: Permission given, I will work on spleef and PVM/PVP tomorrow, open to suggestions for more games.

Hungergames would be fun but everyone uses a client so diamonds would be xrayed.

I can easily encase the area in bedrock, and ensure there are no diamonds in the arena. As for the X-ray for chests issue, I can just make a shit load of chests, and only some of them would contain stuff. I'm open to other suggestions though.

Lets you setup arenas. We could have games where players need to survive waves of mobs. More waves=better rewards.
Also lets you setup spleef.

Looks like the VPS was rebooted again during the day. If it happens again overnight I will move the server to a fresh VPS that is with a different company (All my other VPS's is with this company and the MC VPS is hosted on a different one as my main company had no stock at the time). Will also work on a Control Panel where some selected people will be able to restart the server if it does crash.

If anyone knows of a plugin that can stop xrays like nodus, let me know. Then we can run a real survival server.

I read some stuff, it says Nocheat+ stops most things nodus does.

Because it doesn't make the game feel like survival. Anyone that wants diamonds can just go to a remote area, turn on xray and fullbright, and just mine around without worrying about mobs or falling into lava. It becomes worse than a peaceful mode survival server.

i see.. i think thought that it should be up to the person if they want to use xray or not, since this isnt a pvp server it doesnt really give an unfair advantage to one player or another. Xray is a useful tool and if you just like to build (such as myself) spending less time trying to find ores is very nice. If u want a true survival server noone except maybe justin should have creative.
