Just got one of these from the Squeal, they were added today:

On the Squeal of Fortune this weekend, Yelps is offering increased chances to grab Pendants of Skill: new wearable items allowing you to earn up to a 3x XP boost for a specific skill. They come in two fetching varieties: Pendants of Skill and the even juicier Prized Pendants of Skill.

Pendants of Skill double the XP earned in their associated skill, up to an amount of bonus XP equivalent to a large XP lamp. If you’re really lucky, you could grab yourself a Prized Pendant of Skill that will triple the rate you will earn XP when worn, for as much bonus XP as you'd get in a huge XP lamp.

The amount of bonus XP each pendant contains is dependent on the level of your relevant skill when you claimed them. Once these pendants are exhausted, they will degrade and can be kept as a nice cosmetic keepsake.

The pendants will be available from tomorrow (Friday 27 July), only via the Squeal of Fortune.

As Yelps is feeling particularly generous, anyone who spins this weekend will have a greater chance of bagging one! From Friday 27th to Monday 30th inclusive (GMT) Pendants of Skill are in Common slots and Prized Pendants of Skill in Uncommon slots. After this weekend Pendants of Skill move to Uncommon and Prized Pendants of Skill move to Rare slots, so get spinning this weekend!

Just so happens I got a Ranging one, time to go do some chinning I think ;)

I kind of see this as Jagex's version of selling xp boosts. Buy spin tickets -> more chances of Xp pendant…..But we all knew this was coming when SoF came into existence.

I'm still disappointed in them for this though…

I'm just waiting for Jagex to cut the facade and start outright selling X amount of xp for Y dollars/euros. We know it's going there soon enough.

They're just the same as the large/huge xp lamps, except more common for three days. Nothing really new here, except you get a fancy necklace ;)

And you have to actually do stuff to get the xp.

I actually prefer these boosts (provided they do not give redicules amounts of exp) to straight up lamps… It means the player actually has to go do the skill, not get 1mil exp/hour on SoF. Hopefully the hard/expensive skills are rarer than the cheap/easy ones ;o

Yeah, I'd say pendants are better than lamps. At least people have to do some work.

If they replace the lamps with this i'm happy.

Well if they added the pendants it would make people have to work before comming back for exp instead of just constant squeel spins + Exp so i don't really know if they'd give that luxury up if they're making money from it.

The chances of getting them are so slim, especially getting the one you need though…No one would invest money into spins strictly for exp pendants. Not worth the money or time. They only give minimal amount of bonus exp anyways. People are so negative to updates. Stop giving them money if you think that this is the case.

Without buying any… so the chances aren't SO slim

Yeah.. Pendants are useless, specially at a higher level. :P Its whatever, Runescape will do what it will to gain more money. Atleast we know the money is kind of going to future updates/quests/botnukes D:.

I actually got my first ever "rare" on the SoF, and it was a prized pendant of HP. Besides cosmetics, the worst possible rare :P

Yeah all pendant of skills (not just dg pendant) can be brought into dg. It's more efficient to use your pendant of str/hp in dg if you don't have a bn bind since you would be wasting the neck slot if used on rs surface.

Pendants provide even more xp than a medium lamp so it's actually quite useful if it is the skill that you want to train.

Just got a prized pendant of construction containing a whopping 20k exp, that's quite a lot considering I have under 10k construction exp.

i purchased 200 spins on a double spin weekend and ended up with 450 spins just to give u guys a heads up once u recieve a pendant it will not be on the sof again until u use it i currently have a pendant for every skill and they no longer on my sof. they are ok i guess but when i go to train slayer or att or whatever its hard for me to bring my self to wear it over my fury because of the lack of stats.

I only got a herblore and a smithing one in my bank right now. They don't give too much xp, especially at my levels but free xp is free xp :)

That could explain why I've been getting lamps instead now.

Is it just me or is that green bugger abruptly really stingy the last week or so. I used to get tons of lamps and other rare items. Suddenly it's $1000 over and over again.

@Footy: I actually got my first super rare prize yesterday lol, a huge farming xp lamp. I converted it for 500k gp though

It sucks being f2p and getting 1k from your only spin lol, I think jagex is trying to send me a message :)

I usually get 1k for both my spins. Been getting crap since 4 spin thing ended. I think its jagex secret marketing method for getting people to buy spins.
