Instakill dart – You're fighting for your life in the God Wars Dungeon: your health is low, and you've chugged your last Saradomin brew, but your foe isn't letting up. The answer is here. The instakill dart will kill whatever target you face with one almighty hit!

Choose wisely - these items can only be used once and will expire on 31st December 2012.

Free 1mil xp that can get a skill 1-73 instantly, and every one that can access Nex can now 1 hit KO it (skipping all the phases). The scenario specifically uses GWD which seems to imply that its going to work on bosses, unless the dmg cap of 500 remains (which would make the item almost useless so i doubt that'd be the case). Probably at least 250k members with access X 4 darts=1mil Nex/corp killed without much effort. Seems like spirit shields/nex set will crash further.

You can't kill nex with just one dart. There are four phases, after next drops to a certain amount of life, you must kill a minion before continuing as nex takes no damage what so ever thus needing 4 darts to kill nex whilst still needing to kill the minion; for an avid nex goer such as myself I don't think killing the minions would be so hard, but the dart probably won't be wasted on nex as much as other bosses, i.e jad.

they are a one use item, i doubt the items could crash that much really…

This is purely speculation at this point. The description of the dart is that it instantly kills a monster. It is possible that it will kill Nex, and it is possible that it will only advance her to the next phase.

We will only know for sure what exactly will happen after the items are released.

Anyhow, let's just wait and see when the dart comes out.
If it doesn't instakill nex, we'll hear about it in the rants forum on runescape.com.

Eh I know for sure that if possible I will be using two darts to get that Fire cape then that rhino cape thing. Save me the time to go through it all. IMO this is a better use for them, the small drop chance from nex just isn't worth using ALL your darts in, although I may try my luck with two darts if it does indeed one hit nex.

Does this not work in pvp? Just go out into wildy with 1 dart, fire at the richest person you see.

It obviously won't work in PvP…. And I think there's a good chance it won't work on bosses either.

There are 8 jads in fight kiln which will probably be harder than the final boss if u cant pray switch properly, and if u can then the final boss isn't really hard enough to waste the dart. Nex is 6-7m/hr with a party so u can imagining soloing it can reap >10m expected (average) returns. Fight cave would be really easy though, probably a <50 combat can finish it with the dart.

From the way they describe it i dont think its going to be restricted to non-bosses (yet calling it 'the most powerful' reward), though they may set some restrains, like a certain damage cap on Nex/corp. But who knows, IVF dont seem to care about the economy anymore, money is the priority.

The Dart idea is pretty cool, doubting its pvp but the whole concept of letting you 1 hit bosses on real rs is pretty cool, the post mentions, stuck in gwd? on your last saradomin brew? so its quite possible it will k0 if not badly damage bosses. To bad duping isn't around anymore 10k single hit ko darts GG. lol the bank feature? you should be able to purchase tokens to allow you to bank from anywhere ingame, i mean geez they've already added all of the home teleports.

Umm Yeah? Like I just said it doesn't say anywhere that you get 1 mil xp instantly… you actually have to TRAIN the skill, not get the xp all at once for doing nothing. Again I'm referring to how the mad may necklace was. You had to at least work for the xp.

And you guys have to remember that there's no bxp weekend in September (or at all) anymore, so having this 1mil extra xp, is the same if not less than what we got doing bxp last year. Oh Yeah, except it doesn't affect the economy at all.

Why can’t we have XP-boost items so we can still work for XP, rather than get it instantly?

XP-boost items are a great mechanic and we like using them for various kinds of event, but it’s not right for Sizzling Summer. Keep an eye out for future events, though, as they’re sure to make an appearance again.

No, whenever we introduce a new item or mechanic, there is extensive balance testing carried out to ensure that nothing vastly upsets the underlying game mechanics. The ‘Choose your Fate’ rewards will not have any impact on the economy, as they cannot be traded and they have limited uses.

That's the same thing they said in the SOF FAQ, and sure enough, it only impacts the economy with a fall of >50m for DSS, among many other items :rolleyes:

Hmm it appears I was wrong then :9, they could still have a level requirement for the xp note or something like that, but if they don't then Oh well, it's still less xp then you'd earn for bxp

Think reasonably you guys, do you think Jagex would actually do something that lets people 1 hit KO Nex? Right now its all speculation.

If more people buy memberships to get it, I wouldn't put it past the new Jagex owners to do something so outrageous.

they did say in the description "you've just used your last brew" so maybe the dart wont work if you still have a type of food in your inventory.

Are these going to be a one time use? I've heard these items will dissappear in a certain date..

Each account only gets 4 uses. If every member killed nex 4 times with this, the prices might drop a bit but then go back up within a week or 2..

Im not sure how many high-lvl members will qualify for this, but lets assume there will be at least 250k? 1 Mil nex = 2739/day for a year. All the kills of nex (since its release last year) added up may not even exceed 500k.

If they really allows this (who cares about the economy, short-term profit is all that matters –IVP), it would take at least a year for the economy to recover. Probably not all the darts are going to be used on nex though, since the price crash may mean corp would be more profitable.

I would love to be able to use these to one hit kill some Dill's in the fight kiln, damn things always kill me :/

Hmm, yeah wonder if you could use on jads in the fight kiln or on the fight kiln final boss lol…

my hunch is that the instakill dart won't give drops. so you could kill nex, but get no drops

nerf/balance for the xp note is tier the total amount that you can put into a skill, e.g. 70+ allows 100% of xp, 50+ allows 75% of the xp, etc

Nope it's not nerf at all. you can put all 350k xp into a lvl 1 skill, just that you have to use the smaller lamps slowly. (instead of just the big lamps str8)

i know that there is no nerf, simply more clicks (used it all on summoning) - just meant that it would be a fair way to dole out the exp.

Normally you die because you lagged and get some unlucky blows (in which you won't have chance to to switch to the dart), if you die because you run out of supply then you aren't prepared at all. And dying isn't even any big deal in RS. (unless killed in the wildy)

Agreed dieing in runescape is a joke, almost all of your items are 99.9% of the time safe unless in wild.

thats not the case the dart is a one time thing, and torva has risen significantly, plus the eoc is just around the corner so no one will ditch high lvl gear.
