Death Note was the first anime I really got into. Didn't really appreciate the ending. Saw a hilarious meme about DN a few weeks ago, can't seem to find it now >.>

I watch anime more than tv as well. Actually I rarely watch tv at all. What's your favorite and or ones you love? If you say naruto or anything like that I'd be kind of disappointed.

Haha, you have not seen bad endings. I've seen great animes do a 180 crap ending that makes you look like this :| (Talking about you GTO). Okay, it wasn't that bad of an ending but it definitely wasn't where it should have been.

UM technically Bleach has "deathgods" or "shinigami" But no where near close to death note.

That was pretty random, I checked out initial d's ann page and it is a racing anime? Kind of has nothing in common with death note haha.

Regarding that episode of abridged, dragon ball z is one of the only animes that has a good abridged version… that death note one was rather disappointing.

Yes I've watched them but don't ever recommend them (and stopped watching them…) too many damn fillers.

The only good long running series I've come across is Fairy Tail http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=6662 (still going obviously).

Agreed, Bleach would've been a great anime if they stopped it at Aizen's death and lowered the amount of fillers.

Bleach, Naruto, Trinity Blood (about vampires pretty cool but short), Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai shamploon (i think thats the name, really good one), Samurai 7, Almost all Gundams, Beelzebub, Parasite (although only as manga), Inuyasha, GBZ/GT, im sure there is more, but if you like deathnote perhaps you may like one of these.

I used to watch a lot of anime, some names I cannot remember as they are like in Japanese or somethin.

My votes are pretty messed up I have always wanted to fix them, so they don't really represent how I feel about them.
And I probably have some weird want to watches too that I never wanted to watch. Oh well.

I find AniDB too complicated(it always wants me to do stuff I don't want to do) and I only use the list to keep track where I stopped, etc.

Bleach/Naruto nuff said, although I skipped all the fillers :D.

EDIT: Uh, oh my recent "favourite" is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It feels like they made it "epic" on purpose and the story is not that great, but all together it's really enjoyable in my opinion.

Meh, I have been looking for a good anime for months now so a few day/week doesn't matter. I have found many, watched few, liked less. Once you've found your Top let's say 5 anime it really gets hard to find one that surpasses your expectations. Or at least that's why I am struggling lately.

I am sorry for kind of stealing the thread.

In the end, I think One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, and Histories strongest disciple are the good old ones.

I enjoy Dragonball, InuYasha, Death Note, and Bleach. Once I have finished all of these I will move onto others. :)
