Well, incarcerating someone for life costs more that a million dollars to the taxpayers. Add in lawyers fees for defending him and for appealing his sentences and that's a few more million over the course of his imprisonment.

If you incarcerate them in a mental institution I'm sure it's much more expensive than that. So I guess that's one upside to having him dead.

I know that they predicted that the shooter was Assian.

its scarier because its columbine shooting week. these guys are fucking idiots, not mental. they go to fucked up goth sites, usually are computer nerds (like most of us), and get so sucked in they do whatever people say, even if they're kidding. they are the reason there are restricted movies and games; because they just take them so seriously. they usually have a fucked up family with either no love or drug-related problems or both. this is a fucking university, somewhere fun. now i bet virginia's economy is gonna go down the shithole. all cuz of one fucked up kid trying to look powerful and impressive. truth is, any one of us could buy a machine gun n enough ammo to kill even 100 people before getting killed. maybe strap a bomb with that. the thing is, we value our lives, and most importantly our morals. programmers are more sensible than people that just play computer games. this guy just wanted to prove he was worth something, but we all know that he is worth less than nothing now, and he made a stupid choice. there is NEVER a reason to do this. lol just a lil insight from moi ^^ SHIT thats a lot. if only i could concentrate like this on essays =(

well like tarajunky said if he was to go to jail/psyco-ward it would cost the taxpayers alot of money. the adverage inmate costs 20,000$+ to keep incarcerated for one year. and if he was given life in prision and was say 30 years old and lived to an adverage age of 70. thats 40 years times 20 grand plus which is 800000$ plus if hes kept in a low rate prision which he will most likely be going put into mental theropy and all that other stuff costing ALOT more.

Its sad, been watching it on the news.

Ok a bit of insight….basically this isn't 100% clarified but is pretty certain….he was an asian 24 years old(zomg I nrly said lvl 24…I need to get a life) and it started from a fight between his girlfriend or his ex and some security guy or someone stepped in and the boyfriend or wateva pulled out a gun and shot the girlfriend and the dude who stepped in…….friggin retard…Anyway as horrific as this is, many other issues are raised here. the Uni or wateva u yanks call that place was not evacuated….instead they decided to send an e-mail…..yes a GOD DAMN FREAKING E-mail saying classes were cancelled…..they did this before they had even caught the gunman…Now if they had of evacuated the school instantly then who knows how many lives could have been saved…..maybe all the comotion would have made things worse but sending an e-mail expecting everyone to instantly read it has got to be the most stupid thing I have ever heard.
That's not the worst of it. they sent the e-mail after the guy went home got changed and restock his ammo…..(yes he somehow had time to do all this and not get caught!!!) and once he started the attacks again they sent the e-mail….so they didn't take any action while he was still loose and armed. And also how the god damn hell did he manage to get back into the school!!! what were the bloody police doing….soz about the bad punctuation and boringly long piece of writing but it angers me so much…yes if it wasn't for the stupid retard who did all the shooting none of this would have happened but the way it was handled is just as shocking!!!!!!!

A school in my district they have a medal detector at the doors and 2 guards each with paddles to move around you to find out where it is beeping…

It is so stupid how people want to kill each other in real life… I just take them to the wildy and kill 'em with my full rune =P

I can kind of understand why he would do such a thing though. When nobody likes you in life, no friends, everything is just a big evil blur to you. Then people basically just get a nerve crack or something. They do things, they probably wouldn't have done, if they lived in a friendly environment. It's kind of like one of those things, if just one person, one person walked up to you and asked if you were okay or not… then it would of made an impact on your life. You know what I mean?

Guys, first of all, there's a reason for this. Nobody kills someone w/o a reason…even if it's a stupid reason because some kids were picking on him. It wasn't just because he said..Oh well. Let's kill some people today. Second, it's Virginia Tech, not Virginia College. Virginia Tech is the Hokies. University of Virginia is the Cavaliers. (Thought I'd point that out). Third, at what time did this all happen? Because I heard nothing about this until my friend brought it up at about 4 PM yesterday.

You can just buy em in a shop… i really think they should change this.

I have heard that statement a lot from people who don't live in the USA, I really would like to know where you learn that from, because frankly, it just isn't true at all. You cannot just buy them at any shop or the corner store, and you have to pass criminal background checks and mental checks in order to buy one. 18 is the legal age to own a rifle or a shotgun, and it is 21 for handguns.

This is just horrible bullshit. Too many people freaking worry about the crazy shooter, but nobody worries about the victims. Sad, becuase the shooter got exactly what he wanted with everybody making such a big deal over him.

Wow, are you serious people bring a knife to school. when I was about 10One kid in my elementry did that. He was actually a bit of a mean kid. I was going to tell the teacher but I had decided best not to.

When I was in the Dominican Republic when this happened, I turned on my T.V, and all I see is, "BREAKING NEWS". It talks about the Virginia Tech Incident on that day it happened. I could not believe some horrible person would do this. I think these are possible causes of his doings:

- Bullied
- Too much internet
- hates his parents
- Parents neglect supporting him
- Too much violent video games



Well, someone with similar personalities is in my school. He hates his parents, goes on the internet and believes everything and usually says "omg omg omg omg omg omg" in class, and he has no skill.
