During this summer I have been taking Computer Science 1 as a class from my school. We have been programming in java which I enjoyed and did fairly well at. I decided that I wanted to continue programming in java but I did not know where to go to learn more. I tried programming bots on powerbot but I dislike their api and the bot is down quite often. I was wondering if any of you know of any other ways to use java that I might enjoy. I find programming without a point is very boring and does not create a sense of achievement. I know all of the basics with java and would happily learn more if necessary. Thankyou if you have any ideas. Cheers :spot:

I think EpicBot uses java? But I could be wrong. Also try writing a simple 2d game or something. Or make like a task list program. Make something you will use and want to work well.

2D games are fun to make. Also, the title is misleading. I thought this was about the crappy javascript language.

This is what I was learning earlier this year and knowing Java well, helps a lot. XML is what they use for the layout of things which is piss easy to understand. I have a lot on my hands atm but once I have the time I will definitely be getting back on track with learning the rest of android development tut I was learning. The New Boston website is where I get my tut's for learning android and other programming languages as they are all videos on that site.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

You can make a lot of money, I have teachers who do this.

They take apple apps that are popular that do NOT have an android counterpart and create the android counterpart.

All they do to avoid copyright etc. is change the mechanics up just a bit such as temple run.. change all the sprites and and the ability for a keypad (For jumping/moving)

If you wanted to get really crafty you could make your own bot.
