The Golden Katana can be obtained by purchasing a 90 or 180 day membership card from Amazon.com and then linking your RuneScape account to the purchase.

Solomon's General Store is a store that shares the Squeal of Fortune tab. It sells items, emotes and allows you to change between settings of clothes you can find in Thessalia's Fine Clothes and any other clothes from the Loyalty Shop etc. It also offers different animations for Woodcutting, High-Level Alchemy, Teleports, and Mining. The currency used in this store is Runecoins, which can be purchased using real world currencies. 200 coins are given for free when asked for, which means a small number of emotes, titles, or accessories may be bought "for free".
Members get a 10% discount in the store.

It costs 7,262 ($145) coins if you're a member and 8,070 ($160) coins if you're a non-member to buy everything in the Store.

So I could make 2 amazon accounts, sell 90/180 day cards to myself, then sell the purchase code's from amazon for $$$/RSGP? (Selling the ability to obtain the Golden Katana?) I suppose I could also package the 90/180 card into the deal, or sell the activation code for the 90/180 card elsewhere. Am I interpreting that correctly?

The offices of IVP (Insight Venture Partners), are about a half an hour drive away from my house. Oh the options we would have if there were more people who lived near the area ;)

The Golden Katana looks sweet, but I don't think I will be purchasing membership just for that.
